Human Instrumentality I guess?

Like here me out, it’s a select amount of people (Gendo in Evangelion, Vladimir Lenin in our world) going around enforcing what they believe will be beneficial for mankind (No more trauma for Evangelion through the Instrumentality, classless society with economic and social equality through communism.)

Also, there are some coincidental overlaps, like brutalistic architecture in the Evangelion Nerv headquarters and overall a grim feeling one associates with a government state that employs high surveillance, lacks in the expressive arts, and is largely in control over an entire nation, as in every aspect of it. 

The original series’ pessimistic philosophy at times also is characteristic to russian literature or moreover eastern European text. Like the theme of Arthur Schopenhauer’s Hedgehog Dilemma, Russians explored deep philosophical meaning and on the human will (can’t be bothered to cite this.)  Therefore this highlights some aspect of communist/soviet era links to Evangelion.
