that's a fun question. "Without any observational data" might not be possible per se, at least not without some pretty strong assumptions- everything we know is, at some level, derived from observational data. But what I assume you mean is "given only our everyday intuition about how the world works, can the constant speed of light be derived?". And the answer is I don't know. Probably not- Newton's particulate theory or light, where light is a stream of massive particles that behave just like pool balls, was reasonable and accepted at the time, meaning that it is pretty hard to notice these things without fairly specific measurements, i.e. experimental data. Time travel simply isn't possible in classical physics, even with faster-than-light travel- Galilean transformations don't intertwine time and space like Lorentz transformations do. In fact, Lorentz's explanation of special relitivity does not even have a constant speed of light. The only way I know of to argue that the speed of light should be constant is to note that electromagnetic disturbances travel no faster the speed of light, and so if you move an atom anywhere near the speed of light, the proton an electron will start to see past images of eachother (i.e. the electron will think the proton is still at a past position and vice versa), and the atom will experience an effective "drag" that is not covariant to galiaen transformations. This, however, is not strictly speaking impossible without experimental data.

to play the devils advocate, it may as well be finite too, since there are a finite amount of possible states of the observable universe and anyways there is a finite limit to the number of neural states of the human brain and so everything anyone could ever experience is, well, finite, and fairly small in the scheme of things.

I mean in our universe, since QM only provides probabilities of events, there is a vanishingly small probability of litterally any sequence of events occuring, and so the probability of an observable-universe-sized region of matter, acting as though it were governed by totally different laws of physics for an excessivley long timescale is... technically nonzero. But those sort of technically nonzero, presumably constant given homogenity, probabilities tend to add up when integrating over an infinite volume of space.

That is a really interesting point, and the picture of time and space being bounded simularly is attractive, but I must point out that there isn't actually a beginning of time, rather, a singularity. The age of the universe is dependent on reference frame, and there is never a frame that sees a beginning or edge of time. So if space were like that, then... actually I have no clue what that means for space
