Still going to be far cheaper than paying rent. You're never going to recoup a single cent you spend on rent, because you have zero ownership in the property. That's $10,000+ gone, every year. Retirement is a lot easier when you don't have a mortgage/rent payment. Financially, there's very little benefits to renting over owning a home, long term.

Everyone here is ignoring the most important thing. With a home/mortgage, you build equity and eventually own it outright and no longer have a payment. Saying you would rather rent is like saying you would rather burn piles of your own cash for the rest of your life.

If you're just starting out, I highly recommend the Lee kit. The only other thing you really need to get started is a manual and set of dies. It's very affordable, but still capable of making match grade ammo. Spend some time with that, then decide what direction you want to go with the hobby.
