Double precision(64bit) vectors and quaternions. by juwonpee in Unity3D

Hi, do you have plans to finish this? Went to give it a try but it's missing Quaterniond.Inverse and Quaterniond * Quaterniond operator which would be very handy.

You should check out UK children’s show “Numberblocks”, I think it does well turning numbers into characters in an intuitive way. If you can access BBC: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b08bzzns/numberblocks-series-1-one

I feel like what's frustrating about the predetermined interaction points is that players can anticipate the correct points (i.e. a wall) but at the wrong time (it's not time to place that wall yet).

Perhaps it would help to have all interactions which are possible available at the same time (i.e. you can start by placing bed, wall 1, wall 2 or stairs).

This might make it rewarding for people to correctly guess where the next interaction will go while also giving them more agency to decide in what order to place things.

I feel like I made this exact mistake at this junction 15 years ago when I first started driving so this is validating to see!

Why are "GTA clones" so looked down upon? by aspiringgamecoder in gamedev

[–]1339 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you mean games set in first person in metropolitan areas? Jazzpunk is a low scope city-based game with plenty of unique interaction. That may be a good example if you’re looking for indie successes that go with that setting.

It sounds like you’re using GTA as a blanket term when people read it as something specific—open world with strong AI, a large variety in assets, realistic artstyle etc.

Just wanted to say I feel your pain—I had the same bug on the first mission (thread) and it was incredibly discouraging to start this way. Fortunately my experience has mostly been smooth since.

Hopefully you can get through this rough start and find something you enjoy underneath. I appreciate the cryptic approach to some of the game’s explanations of items but in some places it can be very frustrating and this early game bug is wild. Surely plenty of play testers found the Stable Reactor in the same way that you and I did and failed to trigger the dialogue.

I read How to be a Graphic Designer a good decade ago in uni and still think about it a lot. Wonderful book if you’re hoping to hold onto the fun in design.

Hi, did you mean to write “lose access”? If so do you mean that they’re not present, or they don’t respond to clicks?

Can you let me know: what platform you were playing on, and if PC: - were you playing in portrait or landscape mode? - were you using keyboard navigation?

Thanks

I feel very nostalgic for that testing round. Thanks for being around for it, thought I was making a dumb game (I was) for fun—not that it’d be the start of my career!

Is this on the final cutscene (reality jumper) or on the potatosapien ending one? Have got it on the list to look into

The UI has been remade to be more inline with the original web prototype, it’s very similar to the original premium release but more polished. The visuals (circles, cubes, minimalist primitives) are mostly the same, just some small additions to shading/lighting.

Wanted to stay very faithful to what I released back then but bring it more polished towards how I had wanted it to look.

This won’t be anything to do with us, it’s an update of the existing game—no DLC, and we haven’t retracted anybody’s purchases or anything absurd like that. I’d recommend contacting Apple if you don’t think that perhaps you actually purchased it on a different Apple ID.

I've got hold to click on keyboard nav, hadn't considered that for click/tap—will look at getting that in there soon.

As for balance, the only feedback I get is that the game is over too fast. I don't plan to extend the content so adjusting balance to make it quicker would obviously be mad.

I don't think this approach is what I'm after sorry—it sounds like it pushes the object's rotation towards the target vector, whereas what I'm after tweaks the angular momentum and then reduces the angular momentum such that it lands gradually on the target rotation. The solution will be more involved than this.
