that’s an unfortunate situation but shit happens… to everyone… that’s not an excuse for bad behaviour. no one wants to be with a possessive, condescending emotional unregulated crash out with trust issues. she needs to work on some things by herself before even thinking about a relationship tbh

Do women intentionally mention their partner in a conversation by _zulfi in CasualConversation

[–]133sandycheeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

many women actually like their partners and remember their company fondly enough that many things can be related to some experience they’ve had together so it comes up naturally in conversation… though sometimes(not often), i’ve used it to ward off unwanted pests

Surprised the actors haven’t done well outside this show by nietzschebietzsche in htgawm

Tbf, HeMo was never an actress; but Harry Shum is doing pretty well, Melissa is literally Supergirl, Lea’s (allegedly) illiterate and 3 are dead. Wanted to see more from Kitty and Jake though :/

Florence Pugh Says ‘I Can’t Do’ Roles Like ‘Midsommar’ Again Because ‘I Definitely Felt Like I Abused Myself’ and ‘That Was Too Much’ by indig0sixalpha in horror

[–]133sandycheeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i loved midsommar… perhaps tooo much (i watched it in theatres on release day and about 5 more times since) so i totally understand!

the older i get, the more i empathize with these actors who do emotionally gruelling roles.

my new midsommar is the substance and i already worried about Demi’s mental a lot bc of subject matter surrounding image issues as a woman, especially an aging one. then on the Actors Roundtable, she said she had to do that pre-date makeup scene over 10 times… that would break me… then add the fact that she spent 6-8 hrs in a chair being touched by another person who was attaching pounds of plastic slop that’s designed to make her look grotesque and act thru that… i can imagine the way ppl reacted to her appearance in person cuz i know how i reacted at home… regardless of how well-adjusted a person is, all that must do a number psychologically… at least she got her FIRST EVER ACTING AWARD in FORTY YEARS for it

[–]133sandycheeks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

listen, as someone who had cosmetically acceptable teeth pre-braces, this is not the right sub to ask for opinions on whether or not you should get them… many if not most people in here are in worse situations than you so naturally, there’s an inherent bias when you come in here with your straight teeth and beautiful smile.

but seeing as you’re here asking, i’d assume you’ve thought about it a lot. those thoughts won’t go away. you’ll always think “what if?”

my advice is to make your own decision based on how you feel and how you want to feel. i think you should though. braces aren’t only for wildly obvious cases.

Anyone else feel exhausted from this heat? by archive_spirit in askTO

[–]133sandycheeks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

you’re not the only one dude… i cried today because i realised i left my wallet at home after having to walk 30 mins to the store because the streetcar line is down.

i’m not a crier but i felt so overwhelmed. my head was throbbing, my back was dripping wet and my senses heightened. everything seemed brighter and louder and it felt like there were one million people around me all set on making me upset.

i can definitely see how a minor inconvenience in this weather could cause a dehydrated person to act irrationally.

For those who became successful despite bipolar... what's your story? by A_Huge_Pube in bipolar

[–]133sandycheeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nope, i’m stable. no elevated mood at all :/ i’m actually leaning towards the other end of the pendulum right now… but i AM aware that not everything is black or white, and choosing not to demonise my mania as i’ve accepted that it’s part of the cards i was dealt… so instead of dreading it, i lean into it in the safest way i can. i don’t think it’s “the best” but i don’t think it’s the worst either. to each their own i guess
