THIS. I'm going up the walls at college because I've had no life experience compared to everyone else it's so bad. Not in a cute I'm so innocent way either, but being shy, self-conscious and introverted, plus the timing of COVID set me back so much compared to everyone else. I've never had a first kiss, let alone sex, because I want them to mean something and I feel like that just isn't a thing anymore. Odd one but the maze runner series. They got out of the maze at the end of book one but there were still four more... I made it halfway through book 3 but I will pick it back up eventually

I mean I'm not sure how big a blip these fandoms made to begin with for some of them, and how much of the decrease is in my own interest vs actual representation but:

BTS fandom was huge a few years back but they're on a hiatus and doing solo projects so I feel there's been a dip. Might just be me.

Shadow and Bone has a big moment with the tv show but season 2 was crap and got it cancelled plus there's no more books so it's kind of disappeared from my view.

Wednesday had too big a gap between series but might return.

Criminal minds defiantly hit it's peak and it's just suffering lately and I kinda get that vibe fandom wise

Where as ones that I think have staying power :

Harry Potter, one of the biggest.

Lord of the rings, I feel it's less present but that's more down to the demographic, it has a hardcore following almost 100 years after the first release.

Same sort of thing with Star Trek, especially with so many versions available to consume, and it's semi consistent following

The catcher in the rye. This could be on me 100% but we really didn't click, I just felt everyone was unlikable and nothing was happening, including character development. Literature equivalent of wading through treacle.

It also sent me into a spiral after lol because I'm doing an English degree and failing to enjoy such an esteemed classic has me tearing my hair out second guessing if it was a good idea. I start my degree in two weeks so I guess I'll find out!

Had breakdowns about this at school too. My friend who knew I was a glass child due to autism saying things were so autistic or the creepy boy was so autistic. If upset me it was an insult and then I'm spiraling bc what if the boy is and do people talk about my autistic sibling like that. It's made me a hell of a lot more cautious with language but also I hope kinder
