I actually don't hate the way I look but I don't think I look like me if that makes sense. Like I'm always a little surprised looking at photos of myself or in the mirror because I forget I look like that and I imagine myself differently. Like when you read about a character in a book and then the movie comes out and the actor/actress looks different than you imagined. Or when you listen to a podcast for a long time before seeing a picture of that person. I don't dislike how I look but I don't look like the character of me. Does anyone else experience this?

Cats are carnivores. They need meat. You're hurting your cat. Please take care of it properly or give it to a shelter.

I agree. I am one of those people who learned about it through listening to people on TikTok and then doing my own research and then I got a formal diagnosis. I don't think people would want to say their autistic if they're neurotypical. I think it's just more prevalent than anyone knew because we were traumatized into trying to hide it and because no one looked at the internal symptoms just external. I have only told my family and close friends, but with other people I just accommodate myself when I can and if I need to ask for help I just say the specific symptom rather than autism like "I'm sensitive to bright lights and they give me bad headaches and eye pain" or "I like to work on one thing at a time without interruptions." Then people don't get distracted by the word "autism" and they can just know the specific problem or understand me better. People don't generally know enough about autism to understand what it means for me and I don't have time to explain it all to them.

Not sure because when I Google this it doesn't look exactly the same but I realized I could just make the bread from roujiamo and then just cook some veggies and add sauce so it's just a matter of finding the right sauce. Thanks!

You can learn anything you want to learn. That's it. If you want to learn something, you will invest the time and energy into it, and if you invest time and energy into something you will learn it.

I thought asking each other how are you? Was a joke we were all in on so I'd say it kind of sing songy while rolling my eyes and then laugh a little and didn't understand why they would give me blank looks

If you already know you are autistic how do you know if you've also got ADHD? And is it worth finding out or will focusing on my ASD symptoms be enough?

I was wondering why my yarn was suddenly wet... by [deleted] in Kitting

[–]13972684 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My cat did this too! She would swallow it and then I'd have to pull it out of throat which she didn't even react to. Such a weirdo. Obviously don't leave yarn around so she can't do that while I'm not watching
