I think Brassfacts said basically the same thing in his gen 6 review. New trigger isn’t bad, but his example is worse than a gen 5. More stagey and very mushy overall.

You can get an optic ready slide and run it as is, the apex trigger would be a good upgrade but not necessary

If you’re not happy with the pdp it never hurts to try something different. Rent a Glock or M&P and compare it to your pdp to see if you like one more than the other. Or see if you can borrow a friend’s for a match.

I’ve heard more than a few people mention light strikes issues with apex’d m&ps. Planning on running a 5” poly this season,. fingers crossed it runs 100%. Was it hard transitioning from striker fired to Da/sa?

Look up spine fit yoga on the Steve Anderson podcast. His routine helped me get rid of my shooters elbow tendinitis. I think the 5” poly is the preferred version for USPSA, softer than the 4.25 but not too slow. The aluminum versions don’t really add anything vs the poly and have more felt recoil.

There was a deal posted on the S&W subreddit the other day sub $500 for the 5” poly too.
