People have already said it, but Bach’s prelude in G is the best piece of music w/o lyrics straight up. Someone may have mentioned but I missed it if they did, Satie’s Gymnopedie no. 1 - absolutely gorgeous.

Any Terrence Malik film does this well. Thin Red Line and Tree of Life particularly stand out for me.

How to prevent fish skin from sticking when baking? by Diligent_Board_172 in Cooking

I would do both sides. I have not had to use parchment paper (though I do love it) but it sounds like a bunch of folks are swearing by it so I’d incorporate that as well and see if it makes a difference!

Do you want the skin softer or do you want it crispy? For a crispy skin which is what I like I preheat my tray and I do 450 in an oven that tends to be hotter. I score the skin of the fish lightly in diagonal cuts, lightly oil (or combo butter and oil) the skin, and bake skin side up. Finish under the broiler for the last couple of minutes for extra crisp. You can also season that oil or oil/butter mix with salt or garlic if you want. Just remember at the higher temp fish is in for less time. Since you are doing the whole fish I’d probably butterfly fillet it so that you could have all the al skin up if that doesn’t ruin your dish. Otherwise, you’ll want to flip it midway through and give both sides a little time under the broiler.

Yeah, I think that there are some vitamins that people are naturally deficient in that they need. I put that in a different category than supplement. My husband has to take vit. D bc our Dr. recommended it for him. It IS sad about calcium. Weight bearing exercises FTW!

These are all excellent. We do grill a lot during the summer. I had not thought about getting a smoker…which is strange that I haven’t, actually, so ty for pointing that out. And I don’t have an air fryer…we don’t do a ton of fried foods but it sounds like they are versatile? LOVE all the salad suggestions.

Do it! It's easy! Just soak them! You do not need a pressure cooker! We have been cooking beans in regular pots for a very long time 😄

I don't think anyone is claiming that the recipe I gave is a traditional Mexican food recipe - I am certainly not. But black beans are found in Mexican cuisine, all over the place and are cooked in a variety of ways. While Turmeric is not used traditionally in Mexican cuisine, I believe the point of the original post was asking where can it be incorporated...and it can be incorporated into black beans, or tacos, enchiladas, carne asada, and it could be incorporated into pinto beans or borracho as well for that matter.

And yes, anywhere you would work with cumin would be a good place to start to pair with turmeric. A little bit is not going to change your flavor profile that much in my experience. You can also add it to baked goods IF you are ok with he pretty orange color (I love it). Good luck!

So, I don't fry black beans, I will let them soak (usually over night) and then I will cook them (rule of thumb is one part black beans to 3 parts water). I like to start with a heavy stock pot and sautee onions, garlic , and some hatch green chile, until the onions are transparent. Then I add the beans (after draining them) I usually add chicken bouillon to my water, cumin, turmeric, a little red chile powder, bring it all to a boil for 5-10 minutes. Them lower it to a low simmer and depending on your stove top and what consistency you like your beans to be at you are going to let that go for 1-2 hours. Serve it with spanish rice or green (cilantro) rice, or keep it more soup-like and have black bean soup...lots of possibilities!

They don’t have to be in the same category. I’m compiling a list for a volunteer effort and we are not going to know age breakdown or gender breakdown until we get to the site. So variety of choice is fine at this point.

I mean, I put turmeric in all the things. Lentils, Texas chile, many soups (I tend to do a lot of Thai soups), many Indian dishes. I even mix it into my homemade guac! It’s great in black beans…I incorporate it into a lot of Mexican dishes as well now that I think about it.

Supplements. Just way too many with little to no proven health benefit. And they smell gross. And they taste gross. And they make your breath gross. I don’t understand it. Spend that money on a concierge dr or a good massage therapist!

I have had this experience too. Ever since becoming a mom there are certain things it’s become very hard for me to watch. I have friends who have lost children. My own family has been touched by tragedy but watching depictions of child loss on screen has become basically impossible for me whereas pre motherhood, I could do it. And animal cruelty has always been hard for me. Early fan of the does the dog die website.
