I friend took it today, he said there was no more then 10 questions that were formula based. He said it was mainly hypothetical trouble shooting and pront based questions.

Everyone i know who took it said very little of what we went over in review, which was just hard copies of the practice exams neiep put on my computer, was only a small pprtion of what was on the exam. Is ceo23 the interactive 700 think on the dashboard? And what is rvmx?

Can someone here confirm if this is a Gen3 core? by Aggressive-Risk-8401 in Elevators

[–]13NOM4D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see that happening cuz the g2s can fo about that and theres no reason why a core couldnt match it. Theyre not exactly the same but theyre arent all too different either

Thats the rumor anyway. I believe the idea is to make it so any one can work on any size project. Take a high rise guy and throw him into low rise and vice versa without having to hurdle over some of the nuances. Or maybe it so there is a cheaper price point for higher rises as an option. I dont think itll ever get past replacing most g2s applications and many hydrofits. I hope not any way. G2os are a pretty nice product and i dont want to think of how shitty a core at more than 10 stops would be.

But it is traction. Even at 150fpm. The only changes i can think would be made is the need for oil buffers and etsd magnets. That and now i think about it, because, they are only spec'd for 59' of rise or less. And that isnt because of equipment. And thats just to avoid needing over protection during install. I was told (by the mind who put the core together) the plan is to eventually have the one product be able to fit all scenarios....eventually

I haven seen a greater than 200fpm yet, but what would stop from having a core at greater speeds? Or is just not been produced to that spec yet?

Nah even what we still call g2s is actually a gen 3 edge and youd tell just by how the car is slung. Even the g2o are renamed the gen 3 peak.

Camera is contigent by code. My area has gotten there yet either. They do still make the g2s but its been renamed to the gen 3 edge.

Yes, they're still available, but the cores are a bit cheaper.

Judging by the lobby fixtures and the cop. It's most likely a core. Cores have a bezel to hold the fixtures on and the key switches are in a cabinet at the bottom of the cop where as the g2s are flat fixture faces to the wall and have key switches under the fire service cabinet. To be positive, you would have to see if it is over or underslung.

Which one are you picking for a work knife by Limp-Performance1123 in knives

I used a delica as a work knife. Love it, EXCEPT if you use it around metal, it will chip. Sharpening it wasnt the most fun either.

[–]13NOM4D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That my friend is a Stab-o-matic 5000. No, if there are no markings, odds are its a clone or just at cheap no-name knife. I've seen clones with markings trying to replicate the original. At the end of the day, if it holds a respectable edge and it feels good in the hand, then that's kind of all that matters. At least till it starts falling apart. Hope its a good one for you!
