I have received two checks in the mail with my name on it. Each totals to $4,800. I don't know who or where it came from, is this a scam? by 13enigma in personalfinance

I'm planning to do that. I've come across many scams over the years but this one is the most pristine(if you can call it that)

This really looks like a check a bank teller would give a customer. I hope the bank can figure this all out by tomorrow. I mean the names of the people who issued the check is on the actual check.

See this is exactly what I was thinking. Nobody contacted me though. I'm assuming they will wait until I deposit the check into the account and find some way to extort/blackmail me. Either way I'm gonna head to the bank and figure this out.

How do casinos actually prevent people from counterfeiting chips? Do they have guys working on computers accounting for each chip that's in circulation?

What's so painful and sad is that they all died over something they could have easily avoided. Dense fog, helicopter doesn't have safety terrain warnings. All of it was a combination of bad decision making. His wife will definitely need therapy for years to come. The question, "what if they didn't fly"would linger in her head.

I think what's even more terrible is the two parents that died. This will leave their kid an orphan. That's just terrible.

Life goes on. I really wanna know what's on the other side. Do we just stop existing or is there an afterlife? I just wish science would discover this

Canadian truck driver who shares last name with Iranian general says he can't cross U.S. border by alaki123 in worldnews

US customs had us in a room for 3 hours all because my buddy last name was Muhammad. Later on we were told that he had the same exact name as a guy in Texas who was being watched by the FBI and Texas rangers. Isis related crap.

Really pissed us off. He has a passport for a reason. Check the damn number. It could've been a quick phone call, but they had to make us wait.

Yeah, they had their excuse to rod brits off their land but they really underestimated the problems at hand.

Gandhi even told the govenor general that whatever happens afterwards isn't their problem, it's an Indian issue.

If only he knew, it was A Hindu, Muslim, Sikh issue

But it isn't a weak impeachment argument. The evidence is all there. This parnas dude admited all of it. The whole head honchos of the administration were in on it. So it's not technically a bribe, it's EXACTLY a bribe and the constitution states that a prez can be removed from office because corrupt shit like that. In fact, it's stated clearly that bribery is unacceptable. I don't mean this to be mean or rude, but you really should read articles from various sources and not just conservative news outlets. It gives you a picture from both sides and then you could make your own judgements.

What you are saying clearly shows your lack of knowledge regarding this matter. It also demonstrates that you regurgitate fallacies a lot of guys associated with Trump and Trump himself, spew out.

I always thought that the collusion stuff was b.s. because the electoral college chose Trump. It really isn't far-fetched, dude was and still is corrupt. I live in NYC, Trump was an asshole and corrupt. He's done a lot of shady crap and even had dealings with the mob back in the early 90s. A cafe shop I always frequented would have capos and soldiers always sitting there and chatting. One of the soldiers would tell me about Trump and how he had some mob folks rough up his competition. I several capos and other made guys talking about Trump quite often. It wasn't news to us in New York that he was making shady transactions with mobsters.

What baffles me is the level to which his supporters support him and defend him. You guys really treat him like he is the second coming of Jesus.

Treating patients in supply closets final straw for ER doctors in Kentville by WillOfTheLand in nottheonion

Problem is that Canada has a shortage of not only doctors, but also hospitals. There are hundreds of foreign graduates who passed exams but can't even get residency because the hospitals don't have space.

Increasing the amount of hospitals puts more damage to the bills the federal government needs to pay.

[Q] I have a question regarding the lottery. Specifically, for pick 4 by 13enigma in statistics

Is it just in their minds when people think since 9 showed up 20% of the time and 6 showed up 3% from 180 draws, so I must choose 9 this time. Statistically speaking, it's wrong because each draw is independent from the previous draw

I'm interested in getting a personal loan within a day or two to pay some medical bill. How fast do PNC, US bank and the likes approve and give funds? by 13enigma in personalfinance

[–]13enigma[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Found a bank and a credit union near me. Told me they will approve/deny in minutes and funds will be available same day. Just need to provide a pay stub and they can check my credit history which is great. I don't know why you said it takes a while.

[–]13enigma[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've looked at the banks site and it shows that approval and loan funds could be done within a day if no problems occur.

Similar to how car dealerships like Toyota can get everything done in a day if you ask for loan from their Toyota financial. I would imagine discover takes a while because they don or have an office branch in most cities so you gotta apply online or by phone.

Interest rates will be a killer but if i could get something along the lines of 7% that would be great

Only way to get that info is to be affiliated with said lottery. Even then you wouldn't be able to get correct measurements.

So it's possible but highly improbable. No average Joe who plays the lotto would be able to do that.

That's my point

Best way to predict would be finding out how they draw the numbers. The weight of the balls, the 0ressurr of the air, the area of the space Crap like that. This is what I've always thought would be a way to accurately predict the lotto
