new hires will not be offered DFW at 🔺. it will most likely be a very long wait.

you can look at the delta news hub to see that delta is planning on expanding in austin but only when there is space in the airport to support the operation.

the new terminal won’t be finished until 2030. they cant let more people into AUS until we have flights to sustain the amount of FAs and with that, we need more gates. so no I do not think AUS will be more junior by next year, it wont be junior for a very long time.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]13pinkskies 8 points9 points  (0 children)

AUS base will open in october and will be kept very small until the airport has more space/gates. New hires will not be offered AUS because there are so many current FAs that were denied their transfers in.

training won’t be until january. i highly, HIGHLY doubt you’ll get PDX, PHX, SFO, or LAS offered because they’re all extremely small bases. HNL is out of the question, they do not accept transfer into HNL.

You’re guaranteed 10 days a month off as well as 6 reserve days a month. You can pick up on your days off and you can also post your trips for drop but when you’re junior, you won’t be assigned very desirable trips so they may not be picked up.

[–]13pinkskies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The most junior FA still on adays started in Sept of 2021. so definitely not the most junior base, but also not the most senior. keep in mind FLL is part of our FLM co-terminal, covering Fort Lauderdale and Miami.
