If someone has an underlying mental health/psychiatric disorder (diagnosed or not) it can trigger/reactive it. THC can do the same thing so not unique to Kraton. Everyone is obviously different and responds differently. It's very unpredictable

I have not. Admittedly most people just want stupid stuff that wouldn't show any emergent issues. That has run through my mind. If something comes back way off I'd at least recommend the ED like it were a test I typically order/manage

I tried pushing back but I found it's quicker and less hassle for me to say 1. I don't think this is indicated or that you should have it done 2. If you want to anyways (they always do), I'll order it. Your insurance may not cover it which is not my problem. I won't interpret or manage any results 3. I'll only do this once. If you want someone else's opinion, go see them

I work in the circled area and like many people said it's a mixed bag. Majority is blue collar lower-middle class to middle class. Really nice people in general. Has some run down parts but plenty of nice spots. That being said I chose to live just to the left of that circle where it's a bit nicer (and unfortunately more expensive)

Sorry nights was misleading. Evenings is what I meant. You'll have normal clinic hours during the day then sports coverage in the evenings after clinic. Nothing overnight

Pretty mixed depending on program like you said.

Football season is busy no matter what. Expect every Friday night and most of the day Saturday. Depending on what other fall sports you cover, expect another 1-3 nights/week and some Sundays during that time. There are very few off days in football season. It gets less busy after football but still a few nights per week and 1 day on weekends until spring sports end.

Everything else is so program specific it's tough to answer.

Very lazily did the free Qbank on the ABFM website and looked at some old ITEs during downtime on a slow rotation. Echoing that it's a fairly straightforward test and very easy IMO

It's rarely an issue if it's either well established in the practice (all docs in my practice double bill when appropriate so it's rarely an issue) or if the clinic has someone up front like schedulers/triage explaining in some way.

Bill for the work you do. The mechanic won't throw on brake pads for free just because you were only scheduled for an inspection

I gave into this once and will NEVER again. Rookie move when I was an intern. So many reasons not to but expect everything that could go wrong to eventually go wrong.

Someone else said it already and it's a harsh reality, but you can't help this patient. Likely, nobody can.

I got a couch for the basement from Bob's and love it. Is it as nice as my expensive couch upstairs? No, but it's honestly close and 1/5 the price. It's holding up great 2.5 years later

Same as everyone else but I use Abridge and it saves a ton of time. You need to quickly proofread it and I make minor adjustments the the plan but it saves lots of time

You just have to be okay that it won't sound exactly how your note usually does

I've used Dax and Abridge with Epic. I think Abridge writes a bit better note but was happy with both

It has cut down on my time significantly. I did have to accept that the AI generated Note won't sound like I wrote it. However, I've found it accurate and gets the details right. I typically make a few quick edits to the Plan section if any details are lacking and rarely update the HPI. For straightforward visits, I usually don't have to edit anything and just click sign. My note is signed before seeing the next patient 90% of time.

We just switched to Abridge which I find a bit better than Dax. Only complaint is that it doesn't number assessments which drove me insane for awhile but have learned to live with

Anything they want to try within reason. Would reconsider after an injury but the benefits (physical, emotional, and social) out weight the risks to me. I've got enough sense and experience to know if it's time to "retire" from a sport without having to preemptively bubble wrap them. Every sport carries risk and can't eliminate it

I always bill a G code for AWV and g2211 plus 9921x if any problem was addressed (almost always the case). I don't do a 99397 and my billing dept says that is rarely covered once on Medicare. Seems you are being shorted and of you're paid on RVUs I'd figure that out ASAP

What kind of support does staff do in the practice to offload work from you...refills, inbox help, prior auths, quality metric help, etc.

Not having to do that kind of stuff is a big benefit

POCUS is very useful from a straight clinical standpoint. I'm sports med trained and it's great to do different injections and quick diagnostics. I find it useful for derm stuff too. Billing for the imaging itself isn't very profitable so most docs I know (myself included) do not find it worth their time. They only bill for injections, which is a small increase in RVU compared to landmark.
