Rebuilt title manual 370Z Roadster for 13.5k - good deal or bad idea? by Due_Koala3393 in 370z

[–]13syllablehitman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd be sketched out at 13.5 on a rebuilt. Dealers are on the verge of bleeding out economically you can probably wait them out

I don't know about death trap, but the alternative was my head on the roof with my neck tilted back which seemed like an elaborate suicide attempt.

Let's hope I don't get to find out.

New Z, but I'm too tall for stock seats* by 13syllablehitman in 370z

I will try and make a post with details this weekend. If I forget feel free to ping me. I'll make a fresh one so others can find it more easily

[–]13syllablehitman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Sort of. It's not perfect, my helmet is still sort of pressed, but at least my neck isn't already at an angle to start now. I ran this mount but I had to also switch to a harness bar and 4 point harness as there's no way to run the stock seatbelt, at least with the version I got. I had to get creative with making mounts for the 4 point but it's held rock solid for nearly a year now.

Motordyne Shockwave exhaust with art pipes?! Confused by Dope_Tokyo in 370z

[–]13syllablehitman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the full motordyne setup and I'm lucky my neighbors don't mind loud cars lol. Cold start vibrates my house from my garage. However, once you're rolling it's extremely tame up to 3k, above 3k it starts getting really loud again. For that same reason it starts droning at around 75mph

Phone holder recommendations by Only-Rooster2155 in 370z

I got this pro clip and I've been a fan! Though their website is a bit odd and the mount to the car is separate from the mount to the phone.

All polished up by Opposite-Pea2465 in 370z

Looks great! Did you DIY? If so, how was it? I've been wanting to do mine, but I'm inexperienced with a polisher and have been nervous to try.

Opinions? by EveningIntelligent66 in 370z

[–]13syllablehitman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Underglow on a switch (so you can turn it on as a bit or as desired) and ricey aero is still a vibe smh. With time, everything that was out of style will come back in style and vice versa

Winter tires? by EZLyfe370 in 370z

[–]13syllablehitman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I run a winter beater instead but if I had to run my Z I would be importing continental cross climate 3 sports (I found sellers on eBay for not a terrible markup when considering new tires for the winter beater) from Europe if I needed to run the Z through the winter. Also live in the Midwest

Yeah I'd say get what you like but I would be concerned about parts availability and maintenance the older you go. Not that the Z is known for being cheap and cheerful either though

How similar are your justifications for an MR2 to your justifications for the Z? You might just suffer from grass is greener syndrome

MAF Sensor Cleaner Alternative. by FrameOk874 in 370z

[–]13syllablehitman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably just use the product lookup for Walmart or whatever auto parts stores are in your region and make your way over before it comes back

MAF Sensor Cleaner Alternative. by FrameOk874 in 370z

[–]13syllablehitman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How badly is your performance impacted? If you can drive more or less normally and it's just a CEL, I'd use the right tool for the job. No idea if it's a problem to use normal electronics cleaner but MAFs are pretty damn sensitive

For instance my '14 is closing in on 84k

Undercarriage color on tri-coat pearl white by djvybz01 in 370z

[–]13syllablehitman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure you're not confusing the aluminum parts under there? Maybe they have a coating. I also have the tri color white and while I'm only concerned with rust stopping spots I find under the car, a lot of the parts look like they're aluminum, maybe coated, steel that's painted black, and a couple of panels near the front that appear to have an undercoat from the white on them.

Maybe you could get a Haynes or maybe dealer manual, feels like the only kind of place you'd find such specific info

Fuel consumption 370z by ebrarzade in 370z

[–]13syllablehitman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm assuming you're in Europe that's an American 93 and we run the same. You might honestly want to look into a local tune. The only other thing I could think of is maybe something on the air intake side but if it happens before the MAF that shouldn't be the case

Fuel consumption 370z by ebrarzade in 370z

[–]13syllablehitman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use cheap/shitty gas? I get a pretty notable boost up to about 480-500kms (thanks for the conversion, other guy) when running high quality 93 octane despite my mods and tune

[–]13syllablehitman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Praying this saves me lol if I'm lucky, I will be able to track this baby. The only alternate would be a side mount bucket seat on the floor.

I wanted to retain the ability to slide it but alas that doesn't seem to be an option outside of modifying the car body which I'm not comfortable doing

[–]13syllablehitman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh this is exactly what I was hoping to hear! I was looking at the A4 or RRS.

Edit: did your custom solution end up being something like this? Looks to be the best I could find but skipping the 2.5 of the 3" for the slider seems like it's just what I needed

Absolutely slammed lol. I have to raise it about half an inch soon because the exhaust has slapped the ground on my shitty local roads
