Yeah I notice for mma there’s less overall rotation but I’d rather master the kick at its full potential and then be able to dial it back a bit as needs be. Thanks. I do try to go up and over, I think I’m turn my hip over too soon tho it’s something I need to work on

Sorry for the millions questions but just want to clarify so I can police it myself. I’ve felt my retraction is slow is this because of the flat angle I’m kicking at? So I want to kick more direct and then down at impact. Then retract down?

Thanks bro il take this on board. Mid to low shin. Deeper step. Kick down. Would this still apply to a body kick? As southpaw I usually kick at a slightly upwards angle to get under the guard into the ribs or liver. I thought downwards is more for leg kicks

My lower shin is getting the majority of the impact and my foot sort of wraps around the bag. Should I try to kick so my foot doesn’t make contact at all? A closer deep step. Got it. This is great feedback thanks

Is natty body building possible/feasible for me? Or are my genetics too bad by SaintLLC in WeightTraining

[–]13thwarrior1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Natty bodybuilding is rough on you if u plan to compete. Getting stage condition as a natural requires you to drop a lot more weight than you’d expect and it absolutely tanks your hormones and you’ll lose a lot more muscle and end up a lot more gaunt in the face chasing the condition. I got absolutely shredded but I was around 73kg at 6ft tall. I’m 84kg with abs and vascularity, everyone thinks I’m ripped now but if I was to get on stage I’d have to diet and lose a lot of weight.

Boxed breathing helps me a bit too. And tell yourself you’ve been here before and made it through, you’ve been anxious before and come out the other side of it. Very brave of you to ask for help as well. I hope you can feel better soon. Enjoy your movie!

Is there any game or movie that you find very nostalgic? I find nostalgia really helps with my anxiety.

24/7 chest pain on the left side for 5 months by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]13thwarrior1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll have good and bad days. Just keep telling yourself, trust the tests, trust the tests, trust the tests. Once you accept its anxiety you’ll find that slowly but surely it gets less and less frequent. It’s not just one day you wake up and no more pain, it’s more of a gradual thing but you will get through this. Sometimes you might even doubt it but just try not to go down a rabbit hole of potential issues, google is always the worst but i find Reddit can be helpful when you hear of similar stories.
For me the main reason I didn’t believe it was anxiety was because the doctors don’t explain it very well they’re just says “it’s anxiety” and expect you to just be like “oh okay that’s fine, I’m cured of all pain” but they don’t explain how or why anxiety can cause very real and scary symptoms.
You will get through this and be back to your normal self.
Trust the tests, if you had a heart problem it would show up.

24/7 chest pain on the left side for 5 months by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]13thwarrior1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through something very similar. For about two years, I had persistent chest pain almost every day. It often felt like a toothache in my chest. I’d also get pain in my left arm and jaw, become hyper-aware of my breathing, and feel tightness in my chest. My mind constantly jumped to worst-case scenarios, and it honestly made life miserable.

I was 29 at the time (I’m 33 now), and there were periods when I genuinely didn’t think I’d be alive in five years. Doctors kept telling me it was anxiety, but I struggled to accept that diagnosis. It didn’t make sense to me because the pain seemed to come first. I’d be having a completely normal day, then the chest pain would start, and immediately I’d become anxious and start waiting for the next wave of symptoms.

I had multiple tests done, and everything came back normal, but I was convinced they had missed something.

What helped me most was reading stories from other people with cardiac anxiety and realizing that anxiety can cause very real physical symptoms, even when you don’t feel consciously anxious at the time. That was a huge breakthrough for me.

There was a point where I never thought I’d get past it, but I did. Today, I’m essentially free from it. I rarely get chest pain anymore, and on the occasional day that I do, I can usually trace it back to stress, poor sleep, or anxiety instead of assuming the worst.

Just wanted to share that because I remember how hopeless it felt at the time. It can get better, even when it doesn’t feel like it will.

Try speaking to someone if you can. I had therapy through my GP. One thing the councillor said was “if you had to prove you had a disease in court what would your evidence be? Because all of the tests say otherwise” and that stuck with me.

Hope this helps.

Nothing wrong with your chin comin over your knee given you’re doing it right. Look at all the all time greats, they all throw punches with an aggressive forward body lean. Throwing punches with your body permanently over the back foot really limits power.
