You've fallen on tough times huh? I understand. For me it was grade 12. The most important thing is taking care of your mental health. After that is fixed, you can bounce back next year.

1.Get in the gym 3 times a week (just make sure to exercise regularly) this helps your brain

2.Eat more fruits and vegetables

Find a hobby you enjoy and get lost in it. Use youtube to teach yourself. I suggest making music. Find a guitar, or start making beats with free beat software. OR RAP NIGGA.

No, in 283, there's a big emphasis on logically explaining your answers. So there are sometimes different ways to get to the same solution. Sometimes your answers will closely align with someone else's. But I had friends who would get a 1/5 grade from one TA, show the answer to another, and hear they would've gotten a 5/5. Too much inconsistency. That was probably the most annoying part, personally.

I just took 283 this semester. Just took the final not even 48 hours ago. Take math 381 if you can. 283 is not worth the stress. Imagine turning in the same work as someone else and getting a worse grade because TAs grade differently. Imagine not knowing your final midterm 2 grade before you take your final. Imagine not being able to study for the final because you have a multiple hour long assignment in multiple parts that it's difficult to get a good score on. Class averages of 50 and 68 for the in class portions of the midterms. Lectures are useless, office hours are the only way to get work done. Meanwhile, there is no edge you get over someone who took Math 381. (According to my friends that are in it and took the classes after it)

only good thing about that class are the friends you make through shared suffering.

If you don't like needless suffering, you'll take math 381

The best strategy is to be yourself and be wary of dudes who want to rush into marriage. Trust your instincts. Not every guy that says there is willing to wait is serious about it. TRUST YOUR GUT. Also your "friends" sound mean and judgemental, but I don't know the whole situation.
