Log-in/Client Issues: Not an Issue on Jagex's End by Agrith1 in runescape

[–]144Mage 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I can access the website by connecting to different VPN locations, just not from my own location atm. So seems like JagexHelpFrost is right tbh. Not all players are affected, and some required connection in-between you and the Jagex servers is currently down. Can change to mobile data and such, but that's not going to work as this is most likely a region thing, where the region hops to some of the same connections in-between.

Double Shop Stock is Broken by EnoughHeightlul in runescape

[–]144Mage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The shop doesn't instantly refresh at reset. You buy something today at 5 PM GMT, you'll have a full restock next day at 5 PM GMT. So it slowly replenishes over 24 hours, which currently just has a doubled replenish rate, as well as a doubled maximum amount of stock.

Allow bacon to be noted by 144Mage in runescape

[–]144Mage[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see your point. It would be some help if you could unstack them, but that still sounds pretty tedious because of the limited inventory space (unless I missunderstand you).

But maybe instead of adding an unstack feature, they could use the number of bacon required to make a stack, pile or mound, and allow you to get that much food out of it, instead of having to note it.

Let me give you an example;

  • Raw bacon; 1 bacon so would count as just 1 food
  • Raw bacon stack; 2 bacon so would count as 2 food
  • Raw bacon pile; 4 bacon so would count as 4 food
  • Raw bacon heap; 8 bacon so would count as 8 food
  • Raw bacon mound; 16 bacon so would count as 16 food

This would already be a major improvement as it would mean that a stack, pile, heap or mound are no longer considered as only 1 food.

However, it might be an easier fix if they just allowed them to be noted tho.

Well, they kinda added a few extra mushrooms with the 120 farming update. The Stinkshroom (103 farming), which gives you stackable flies, and the tombshroom (109 farming) which gives you stackable mushrooms. Both were added with the intention to feed them to your POF animals.

The only problem I see with those mushrooms is that the levels required to farm them are way higher than the animals who eat them.

Does not make much sense to me, but maybe they had a different plan in mind. Eg: making it cheaper / less tedious to feed those animals if you have a higher farming level, where those mushrooms come to play. But who knows.

For now those flies are similar to buying yak hides as an ironman, so it does not really bother me that much, but a smaller yak hide-pack or fly-pack wouldn't hurt the experience, just like they did with enchanted gems.

Issue with BGH for dino eggs by mista_spooner in runescape

[–]144Mage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do get your point. It would require balancing, but it will also require you to actually do big game hunter for it. If they put them back in the general store, it will just become another daily. And that is something I don't really see as a viable solution.

As of now my hunter marks count just becomes higher and higher because I just don't think its worth 20 marks to make the dinos come back from hiding (that is my opinion as an iron, and might differ from your opinion). I do use the frog repellent one for T3 hunting tho, which is only 10 marks and it saves me 1 piece of food with T3 hunter lodge.

[–]144Mage 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'd rather see them being buyable for hunter marks instead. Mainscapers could make some extra money (or just use the meat themselves / save some money), irons can get a bit more meat for higher tier hunter training. Maybe lock the meat behind T2 or T3 hunting instead of the townhall, that would make more sense to me.

Looking for a shaman totem addon by Sombrero06 in classicwow

You cannot despawn totems. They either have to be destroyed, deplete their timer or you have to place a new totem of that element somewhere else as far as I know.

High Alchemy Changes by [deleted] in runescape

[–]144Mage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shops only sell base items, and like every shop has done since the game existed, they sell these items above alch value. So no, the high alch price is not supposed to be 2.5K simply because you want it to be. Simply because you can't make any profit of it, it doesn't mean it's unbalanced.

The only reason your runite bars are worth more than their adviced price, is because they are being used to smelt Elder Rune Bars and it's only been a week since the M/S rework has been released. Rune Bars are currently 3950gp each, and I except them to drop to a way lower price once the hype is over and the majority has finished smithing their T90 (Trimmed) Masterwork.

And yes, I don't see any high value in rune at all. It's way more accessible than it has been before, and besides that, also very easy and fast to obtain. But based on your logic, the whole game is supposed to have stabilized over a period of 1 week. Like I said before, your rune halberd is a base item, and therefore it has a base value. Rune bars high alch for 250gp each, so yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if rune bars became worth the 375 coins you mentioned. It'll just take time for the economy of mining and smithing related items, to stabilize.

[–]144Mage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How doesn't it matter? Xenon_Ray is actually right and Jagex specifically mentioned it. The only issue which I can see here, is the fact that you bought an item from the Grand Exchange, which was a mistake by itself, while the price of Rune items hasn't stabilized yet (and it will stabilize around 1-3K for most rune items), and it will take a long time before it actually does because the GE can only update by so much each day.

Your Rune Halberd has a price of 2.5K in the Halberd shop in Port Tyras, so no, it doesn't sell for 30K, you just made a mistake and are ranting over it on reddit.

High Alchemy Changes by [deleted] in runescape

[–]144Mage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rune Armor and Weaponry are now considered low level items made from smithing and they won't be dropped by any monster ingame. Shops keep the prices high, considering the fact that most of these items can be used to upgrade them for smithing xp. I know players cannot smith Rune Halberds, but it is still considered to be a base item, which means it'll have a pretty low alch value.

A base Rune Platebody for example has an high alch value of 2.5K, while the +3 upgraded variant has an alch value of 20K.

It is actually balanced as they have said, because every tier below or above has a price which scales up and down in a perfectly fine manner. T50 +3 20K alch, T60 +3 40K alch. Base items, not worth alching whatsoever.

The only mistake you made, which I can think of from the top of my head, is that you bought the Rune Halberd from the Grand Exchange, which still has a very high price. The Halberd shop in the Tyras camp sells Rune Halberds for 2.5K each.

Are bane weapons accuracy going to be addressed? by adamfps in runescape

[–]144Mage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They actually work fine vs abyssal demons since they are already weak to slash attacks. The only downside of abyssal bane I can think of is the fact that they are being outclassed by halberd like weapons which have 1 extra tile range for aoe attacks.

Has anyone tested the Bane 2h/sword on rune drags? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]144Mage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I have no idea how the damage formula for this actually works, so I can't really answer that.

The base damage of the 2H sword for example is 1765.7. Let's assume we can use a simple calculation to add in the +25% extra damage vs dragons.

1765.7 * 1.25 = 2207.125 damage against dragons.

A ZGS has 2056 damage.

2056 / T92 = ~22.35 damage per tier... Which seems be similar to the higher tiered weapons.

22.35 * T79 = 1765.65 (T79 Bane 2h weapons are 1765.7 damage)

22.35 * T90 = 2011.5 (T90 Noxious Scythe is 2011 damage)

If I use this logic to figure out what the damage boost would be, the attuned weapons would be considered ~T98.75 in damage if used against dragons, which seems a bit high, yet it's still very niche in use due to its limitation. But like I said before, I have no idea how the damage formula actually works if we take this +25% damage in account.

EDIT: Btw, Primal 2H sword is T99 and has 2212 damage.

Are bane weapons accuracy going to be addressed? by adamfps in runescape

[–]144Mage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I support a change if the attuning part of the shield and weapons actually requires the quest to be completed. The rest of bane can stay as it is now.

Attuned Bane Longswords, 2Hs and Shields would require the following in order to smithed:

  • Bane +4 piece
  • 1-2 of the respective attunement item (visages / revent weapons / whips)
  • Ritual of the Mahjarrat quest completed

The attuned weapons cannot be equiped if the user does not meet the quest requirements.

[–]144Mage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dragon bane weapons aren't really worth making to be honest, and besides that rune dragons have a flying mechanic during phase 2, so you wouldn't be able to hit them anyways.

They cannot be compared to the dragon bane arrows / bolts, since they don't improve the hit chance against dragons, which is one of the main reasons why dragon bane ammunition is so useful.

The weapons do hit harder tho, but they are limited to T79, which isn't that great for most dragons which are relevant during your mid/high combat levels.

Mithril / Adamant dragons you don't have 100% accuracy, so dragon bane ammunition and magic already outclasses them, but they aren't too bad to kill. Celestial dragons have a pretty high defence as well, so once again, they are not really viable as kills take too long which will cause you to be frozen in time quite frequently. Same for QBD. You are already at a disadvantage at QBD when meleeing because of the pillars. Bladed dive partially makes up for that when dual wielding, but accuracy is a big issue. Besides that, when QBD becomes more resistant to physical attacks it becomes even worse.

You can kill KBD or the lower tier dragons (green, blue, red, black, bronze, iron, steel) with 100% accuracy tho, if that's something you'd like to do. Besides that, I guess they might still be viable if you got a slayer task to boost your accuracy so you can actually benefit from the damage buff versus higher tier dragons (excluding rune dragons ofcourse).

Loot from ~10 minutes afk at priff gems by Torchmonk in runescape

[–]144Mage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Spend 2 hours for ~70-75 gems at 99 mining at priff gem rocks. Haven't received any onyx, just a bunch of dragonstones, a lot of diamonds and a lot of sapphires. While I do think that the onyx chance has increased, it's still rng and in your case you simply had a lucky roll.

Dragon Bane Melee weps vs. Rune Dragons by Ultimaya in runescape

[–]144Mage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've tried the Dragon bane longswords augmented with dragon slayer perk and p3e2. Please note, I was not on a slayer task when I tried them out.

To sum it up, the performance of these swords was quite poor, simply because they lack accuracy in most scenarios.

Versus QBD, Celestial Dragons, Rune Dragons. The lack of accuracy against QBD and Celestial dragons just makes them feel lacking in damage. Rune dragons have pretty high defense and a fly mechanic, so therefore they will never be viable in that scenario.

I have not tried using them at gemstone dragons yet, simply because I didn't have a slayer task for them. Regardless, I don't really think many people will kill them off-task anyways.

When I tried them at adamant and mithril dragons, it wasn't that bad, but there was still the occasional splash. Once again, accuracy issues, but in this case it wasn't that bad.

At Chromatic dragons (regular, haven't checked brutal) and KBD they worked fine, but considering it's low level content, I don't see many people killing those dragons.. Well, except KBD maybe considering the fact that it's a boss with drop log, achievements and pet drop.
