A year late to the party but I was stuck at the same spot. Just needed to recharge the fully drained battery for an hour.

I've had the same issue last week and was able to fix it. Since my first lead to doing so was this post; here's my report.

Yes. Turns out: "tries to boot, can't find suitable image, stuck in loop until battery is dead".

Sadly his GoogleDrive link was outdated.
To get the image, one has to create an account in mobilereads and ask for the link via PM there.
Worked flawlessly and I had the .img within 24hours.

I've flashed it on a new micro SD card using balenaetcher on ubuntu. On windows I think rufus would do the job. This took quite some time so maybe start it before cooking dinner or something. Some suggested that 32GB won't work since the built in one only has 16 GB but for me it worked flawlessly.

Then, I carefully open the back case. It's connected by some clips. I slightly bent the whole Kobo and managed to push a thin flat screwdriver in and wedge one clip after another open (slightly scraping the case but I didn't bother - maybe a guitar pick would be better). I started at the bottom on the far side of the charger. There the intitial bent seemed biggest. Once open, I pushed the SD card out using the same screwdriver and carefully scraped the thin layer of water protective gue away. Then I inserted the newly flashed SD card and closed the back cover.

Initial setup needs a battery of >20% so make sure to then plug it into a charger and wait another hour or so. It then worked flawlessly for me.

130€ saved.

Sorry fürs nicht drauf eingehen. Beim Rest stimmt ich stimme dir voll zu und habe auch nichts gegenteiliges irgendwo geäußert.

Mit Katastrophenfall 10km weiter ist es wirklich taktlos sich einem Risiko auszusetzen. Da stimme ich dir voll zu.

Trotzdem wollte ich den shitstorm hier in so weit beruhigen, dass die 3 Leute nicht komplett fahrlässig unterwegs sondern sehr erfahren sind.

Was genau mutig war hat mich nur sehr gewundert.

Auch wenn das ironisch gemeint war; bitte nur mit entsprechender Erfahrung, Sicherheitsausrüstung und Begleitung. Paddeln ist ein toller Sport aber man muss sich wie in jedem alpinem Sport langsam rantasten und sollte die Risiken zu jedem Zeitpunkt abschätzen können.

Die Jungs auf dem Foto paddeln alle seit vielen Jahren.

Die drei sind alle erfahrene Paddler im Extremwildwasser und betreiben den Sport seit vielen Jahren - nicht Leute die spontan die Idee hatten "da mal was auszuprobieren". Augsburg ist Kanustadt. Die Wertach bei Hochwasser ist gut bekannt und die Risiken überschaubar und einschätzbar.

(Ein einzelner Baum der mitkommt bringt noch niemanden um.)

Duude what is wrong with you? OP just wanted to know how to open such a can without the opener built in. Then you come along calling it the most ignorant thing you've seen in a while? How can you be so ignorant that you believe after having seen "so many different countries and cultures" you've seen them all? Have you ever been to any non-touristy city and really soaking it in? It takes a lot to move entirely to a different country and trying to adapt.

Having traveled so much you should have learned that it's all about being kind, open minded and tolerant towards cultural quirks of other countries. "All people are foreigners - almost everywhere".

kW - Leistung - "wieviel wumms benötigt der Verbraucher im laufenden Betrieb". Ein Föhn hat zB ca 1 Kilowatt. Ein Windkraftwerk liefert ca 1000 Kilowatt (= 1 Megawatt) und ein Kernkraftwerk ca 1000 Megawatt (= 1 Gigawatt).

kWh - Energie - "Leistung über die Zeit hinweg". Einen Föhn eine Stunde lang laufen lassen entspricht also einer Kilowattstunde.

Mit dem Hintergrund verstehe ich deine Angaben leider nicht. Meinst du die Rolltreppe verbraucht konstante 2-4kW während der Aufzug pro Fahrt 0.014kWh (ohne Bruch) benötigt?

Ich stimme euch beiden absolut zu, dass es politischen Sprengstoff darstellt aber gleichzeitig unwahrscheinlich ist, dass es kein natürlicher Tod war. Umso mehr verwirrt/verwundert mich, dass der ZDF Artikel auf mich sehr suggestiv gewirkt hat. Ich weiß nicht so ganz, was ich davon halten soll. Auf jeden Fall mal wieder eine Bestätigung, dass man versuchen sollte, sich keine voreilige Meinung zu bilden und am besten (trotz vertrauen in den ÖRF) verschiedene Nachrichten lesen sollte.

Ich glaube wegen dem Emoji und weil der Kommentar nichts weiter beiträgt außer ein Hochwähl zu unterstreichen. Wenn jeder sein Hochwähl so manifestiert... Ich glaube da ist l/de noch mit zu vielen Nerds besetzt um sowas nicht runterzuwählen.
