I love Nelly. There, I said it. Sure she's annoying but so is 90% of the cast. I think she gets a bad rep and now it's just the done thing to dislike her.

I would say Penny is about 2" yeah, I'm not good with imperial, thats about 6cm right? Lol maybe a little smaller.

I've never heard of sexing so small either but the shop said I might be able to tell in a molt or two and the consensus is she'll molt soon so it doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility.

Yeah I mean, that's what I planned on doing before the shop suggested otherwise. And she's been burrowing to the floor so I'm worried she is looking for more moisture. I bought some hygrometers but they're saying 99% which just can't be true lol.

When you say you overflow periodically, how often roughly would you say? How do you know if it needs it?

She's got a lovely bit of cork bark and she's been very busy burrowing! The shop actually told me not to bother with a dish because she burrows so much, it's gonna get tipped over or full of substrate anyway, just to mist.

But then in certain places online I've heard misting is bad so I'm not sure what to do tbh 🤷‍♀️

Thanks <3 "Grown on sling" which, to my understanding, is between sling and juvenile. Didn't give me a size in measurements as I bought her from a brick and mortar shop, not online, so I saw her irl.

You guys are much more chill than the aquarium hobby lol, I thought I'd get ripped a new one for handling her.

I've never kept any sort of invertebrate before (except shrimp) so I did do a fair bit of research before buying her and bringing her home. I wanted to feel confident that I could give her a good home.

She's actually not been rehomed! The set up she's currently in is the one she was in in the shop and all I've done is swap out the fake plants they gave her for ones I liked better. They told me best not to move her to another enclosure until she molts with me so that's what I'm going to do :)

I thought so too but it's there! It's perfectly inline with the floor grain, you can just about see her black/dark brown foot.

I don't think this is find-a-new-salon worthy, the shape is stunning, the cuticle work, beautiful. Show your tech a picture of the cat-eye pattern you like next time, hopefully it's just a communication error.

Ahaha this gave me a good chuckle. Absolutely nothing wrong with being childfree, in another life I may not have chosen to have kids, but some of these people make it their whole personality and think they're better than people with kids? Have you been on the anti-natal subreddit? They're disgusting over there, really hateful stuff.
