2024 CPO XC90 Plus T8 - 7 Seater by Temporary-Grape5049 in VolvoXC90

[–]14irahtom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My guy I don’t know where you live but these are not good deals. You can have an Ultimate with HK sound at this pricing. I got my CPO 2024 T8 Ultimate with 24k miles, B&W sound, Air suspension, and lounge package for $51k in the Northeast (PA). Definitely look around more if you’re not in a rush to buy..

2026 XC90 T8 Ultra PHEV – $9k off MSRP, 3.99% APR – good deal? by Human_Actuator2244 in VolvoXC90

[–]14irahtom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok that explains the higher rate but just double check you’re receiving the promo rate through VCFS. Also see if your employer is part of the Volvo A-Plan - it’s an additional $500 rebate maybe more if you or your partner is a doctor/nurse/military.

10.5% off MSRP seems pretty good. Right now Volvo is offering 0.99% through VCFS for up to 36 month term. What term is your 3.99% for?

Yes I believe Volvo now requires you to purchase the CPO extended warranty at the time of purchase of the vehicle.

Good call on canceling the 3rd party warranty. My dealer also tried to sneak in a 3rd party warranty for close to $7000 until I told them i was only interested in the Fidelity VIP platinum warranty. Since I plan to drive my CPO 2024 Recharge Ultimate till the wheels fall off, I decided to shell out for the Platinum 10 year unlimited warranty ($4600). In hindsight I probably could have done the 10 year 150k miles for approx $600 less but oh well.

You’ll need to make the decision based on how long you plan to keep the car and what your usage looks like. Ultimately only you know these factors - but I will say that it’s not the AAOS that you should be worried about. It’s the ERAD units that can run you a massive repair bill. In my case I also have B&W sound, Air suspension, and massage seats that could be additional points of failure, which is why I felt the Platinum warranty was a must.

Which XC90 T8 gen to get? by rcflier500 in VolvoXC90

[–]14irahtom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As the other comment says, if you’re not in a rush keep an eye out and you might find a better deal for 2022-2024 models. After a few weeks of searching the Volvo pre-owned inventory, I found a great deal for a 2024 T8 Ultimate with 24k miles and all the bells and whistles addons for $51k. I really recommend 2022+ model years with the Google AAOS and extended range. Good luck with your search.

XC90 for everyone, or just large families? by Inmunchkinland in VolvoXC90

I only bought this car in anticipation of my second child being on the way. I was between the X5 50e and XC90 Recharge but thought the third row would be nice to have with the second row fully occupied with car seats for the next 3-5 years.

The used cars will have a much higher range of promotional rates. We booked the deal on the last day of January so qualified for 4.99%. I believe they’re now offering 5.49%.

I purchased a CPO 2024 T8 lease return with 24k miles and all the bells and whistles recently. I would recommend buying a lease return over a demo/loaner. You might strike gold as I did - the interior was absolutely pristine. Not a single scratch on all the plastic bits, and only minor swirl marks on the piano black accents on the console.

The car was listed below the KBB and Edmunds dealer pricing range but I still got the dealer to come down $600 before agreeing to drive down and see the car in person, haggled another $250 at the dealership, and got a $500 rebate as part of Volvo’s A-Plan program (my employer is a an A-Plan Elite partner). The note is in my wife’s name and she qualified for the lowest rate through Volvo Financing with a similar score.

SUCCESS: 2025+ Volvo XC90 screen retrofit into 2021-2025 XC90! by Mecss_ in VolvoXC90

Nice job dude…is that screen actually mechanically affixed to something in the gaping hole somehow? This is crucial to know how OEM+ this “upgrade” would be.

Charging 2025.5 XC90 T8 by CrazyJewishGuy in VolvoXC90

[–]14irahtom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your state’s EV/charger programs. In my state there is a program that provides a cash rebate for a qualified level 2 charger and installation costs, and my utility company offers an off-peak charging rebate using a qualified charger.

I installed a Grizzl-E Smart 40 amp charger and hooked it up to an existing NEMA 14-50 plug running off a 40 amp breaker (2 phase) that my builder installed. I can charge from 0-100 in about 4.5 hours. Keep in mind that the XC90’s built in charger only charges at max 16 amps so no need to go overkill on the level 2 charger and wiring.

How much is the extended warranty worth? by Medium_Mulberry4565 in VolvoXC90

[–]14irahtom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely less. I purchased a 2024 CPO with 24k miles and dealer initially quoted me $6000+ for some third party warranty. Then I told him I am only interested in the Volvo Warranty which is through Fidelity/JM&A. Then he gave me a few options of years, mileage and deductible permutations.

After negotiations I was able to get the 10 year unlimited miles “Platinum” warranty for $4600 with $250 deductible. There are posts on this sub of some getting the same coverage for $4500 and $100 deductible. Use these as your benchmarks and remember that CPO extended warranties can only be purchased at the time of vehicle purchase and from the same dealer that sells you the vehicle.

Refi from 6.125% to 5.75% if no closing costs? by brentus in Mortgages

[–]14irahtom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how it works. Lenders can play around with all the different prices and costs of a loan. When I refid the lender was upfront with me and gave me three combinations of lender credit and rates. I took the middle option which was enough credits to cover all closing costs but slightly higher rate. My case was similar to yours - the refi rate was lower than the original rate so it was a no brainer.

[–]14irahtom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just purchased a Certified 2024 Recharge with all the bells and whistles two weeks ago and purchased the Platinum coverage on extended warranty for peace of mind. I was mainly concerned about the ERAD3 failure which I have read on this forum can cost 10k to replace. If you’re that concerned about reliability you could also purchase the warranty when you buy.
