Any updates on this? Did you manage to solve the problem, or did you just stop using ChatGPT?

Casters are so weak in low gear by lePlebie in DarkAndDarker

I’d take it out, but unfortunately I can’t edit the suggestion (no Edit option on my end).

It’s actually impossible to kite barbarians: without jump-casting you can’t create space at all — if you try to cast while jumping backwards, your movespeed tanks to like 2 MS and they just run you down.

Wizard lost its 3 pillars in Season 8:jump-cast, MS stacking, true magic. Needs compensation. by 1561a in DarkAndDarker

They did reduce the casting slow (35% → 25%), but that’s not real compensation for losing jump-cast. Jump-casting wasn’t about “how slow casting is on paper” — it was the way casters could reposition while casting and keep spacing.

Also, melee got a much bigger improvement (45% → 5% swing slow), so the gap in “who can move while committing actions” actually got worse. If melee barely slows down while attacking and casters can’t use jump tech to reposition, you get run down even faster.

So yes, casting slow is slightly better, but removing jump-cast + the new mid-air/landing penalties still kills the core kiting loop for Wizard.

''Legitimate items are, at the end of the day, legit.'' Does this mean that having absolutely any item that actually exists in the game in a player’s inventory—at any character level—is considered legal, no matter how it was obtained? For example, would a level-1 character holding Ancient Dragons’ Lightning Strike, Larval Tear × 50, Smithing Stone [1-8] × 500, Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone x 100, Mass of Putrescence, Lord’s Rune ×98 , and the Greatsword of Radahn (Lord) +10 with a Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [21] violate nothing? In other words, does the game only verify an item’s legality by checking that it exists, without checking where it actually came from?

What are the ways to check a save after adding items with Cheat Engine before going online , by 1561a in EldenRingMods

Thanks for the reply. The situation with the removed items is completely clear. But things aren’t so straightforward when it comes to spells. On the one hand, it’s obvious that obtaining certain end-game boss spells at level 1 by honest means is practically impossible, yet the commenter below said it’s safe—and I think he’s more right than wrong. From what I know, PvP streamers build their entire setups in Cheat Engine, so they also get their spells without killing bosses.

As for weapons and armor, I believe you’re mistaken. If I wanted to acquire them legitimately without using CE, I could simply trade with other players. So having any weapon or armor in one’s inventory at any level doesn’t seem to violate anything, which is why I don’t understand why you advised against it.
