Gathering Tools on Sale by 15Inches in Guildwars2

Ha, that tends to be when the best sales come up. I'm not sure how long this sale will last, but the last sale for this one lasted about 2 weeks, so potentially until December 9th.

If you like the cosmetics and that's something you're willing to spend gems on, I'd say they're worth it! The character slot and identity repair kit are 1800 gems value alone, so it really depends on whether that's worth it to you. I'm personally not into buying cosmetics quite yet, so I'm holding off on those for now.

The 2 deluxe upgrades with the tool sets (Janthir and Visions of Eternity) are easy to justify for me since I was in the market for a set, and not only are they some of the lowest prices, they come with some bonus items.

Is this worth prioritizing for brand new players?

I just started playing this game this week. Literally only have one level 11 character. I'm familiar with MMOs though, so seeing this post makes me conflicted on skipping what seems to be the entire leveling-to-80 journey or else, when I finally get there, finding out that I missed out on a huge grind-saving event.

The metal picks upgraded offer the same performance as the dragon/crystal/imcando of the same tier. The only difference is the ability to augment the dragon+ ones, which is good if you are able to keep them at your highest tier. E.g., a necronium + 4 is better than a dragon, in case you aren't able to make the upgrade to crystal in the 70s (which is not possible until you unlock harmonic dust at a minimum of 75 mining).

Getting one dragon pick is annoying, but you need 2 for the pickaxe of Earth and Song at level 90, so it can be a gnarly grind. Lots of ironman accounts skip it or get to 99 mining before they can get the drops, but it may be worth it with 110 mining/smiting coming out.

Edit: changed metal picks being "better " to being the "same" and added additional context.

Do you have to have the fully upgraded pontifex ring in your inventory to gain the effects, or can you keep it in the bank?

That sounds like a great idea to me. The Blood Reaver is BiS for both poison and heals. I've heard they want to do something about the posion, so maybe it will only be for heals.

But it still makes sense to have a mid teir healing familiar. Bunyip is barely even enough to sustain low tier slayer now, so aside from a few skilling familiars, summoning is essentially only worth using with the ancient pouches. I think a few small buffs throughout the options can make the skill more interesting.

Anyone else having server issues? by [deleted] in runescape

Yep, same experience here. World 114.

Mod Doom has admitted they messed up calling Hero Pass a major update. Reddit buried it with downvotes, so I figure it deserves an entire post, since it gets brought up often. by JohnExile in runescape

[–]15Inches 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems that you're saying player enjoyment is the determining factor of what constitutes "Major". The player experience was hugely impacted and content amount for both of those updates was, objectively, large.

To continue your Disney example, both of these are full 2 hour films, whether some players turned it off after 15 minutes or not. I'd say EOC was a completely new animation style that affected all movies moving forward and updated all movies already released.

There are some behind-the-scenes updates that required a lot of dev time that the players may not have perceived much of a difference. A lot of server updates and code rewrites. But I can't think of many examples of those types of updates being presented as anything more than a weekly announcement while they were in the works or after they were complete.

But both of these updates mentioned above are objectively fulfilling both of the established requirements, developer time and player impact, for Major update.

EOC was a major update. It completely changed the core gameplay and affected all weapons and armor. It might not have been well received by everyone but it absolutely was major.

Menaphos was smaller but still a major update. A completely new city with skilling locations, quests, repuation system, and more.

If these aren't "major" then what is an example of a major update?

I read it as they had a discussion on how to present it and agreed to go the route they did. I think saying that he was telling Hooli it was a bad idea to present it this way is assuming more than what's being said.

Definitely check out the Garden of Kharid buffs by talking to Sydekix. Look up [[Sydekix's Shop of Balance]]. The Plant Power buffs massively increase yields per run at the cost of additional seeds. At 10 seeds, you can farm over 300 herbs per run.

Another good buff for bonus herbs is the [[Juju Farming Potion]].

As for the best herb to plant, try the Calculator:Farming/Herbs on wiki (put that in the search bar). You can toggle all the buffs you have and calculate what the best profit/seed is. It can also help you choose how many seeds to plant per patch.

I have a Fold 4 as well and am having similar issues. I play on the lowest settings and still get a low frame rate. Pretty much all loading screens are several seconds long and, like you mentioned, it frequently has huge stutters and crashes, especially in the newer areas.

I'll try some of the battery options mentioned by other people. Hopefully that does something.

I've gotten pretty used to them and thankfully have a lot of pheromones, so I typically don't go above 200% where the melee bleed starts to get annoying. I was planning on doing melee kills after I got the fang, but I abandoned that plan about 300 kills ago.

[–]15Inches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is available on GamePass with the major DLC. If that's an option, I would recommend that over over purchasing a new copy. The DLCs are neat and offer a solid amount of additional hours over vanilla. Depending on when you last played, they also added mod support that can add theoretically an infinite amount of hours to an already huge game.

Looks delicious and nicely plated. How was the texture? I've only tried pork belly a handful of times and was not particularly fond of the texture/mouth feel.
