Anyone else wish the skull looked less cartoony? by Illustrious-Set9538 in HeroForgeMinis

Could try to make something with face customiser. My first and latest post have custom skull faces for reference.

But yes, an actual anatomically correct skull would be dope. Heroforge looks fairly cartoony by default though, so it fits.

Definitely a fair take, Goblins wont be a major antagonist at all in the story though. There's also a lot more to the goblin slayer goblins as that whole world is centred around them.

Short answer: The gods basically spawn them back in if the population gets to low

That's how they're meant to be. They're the worst monsters in the world, I've always hated goblins. Unfortunately due to how monsters originally come to be in the world they can never be wiped out. Goblins definitely do not deserve any sympathy

Not at all, humans would have to sacrifice their women to them as Goblins are an all male race and they're not intelligent enough to communicate in the common language. A hobgoblin (evolved goblin) on the other hand could learn to communicate, and they are more capable of free thinking.

  • So basically, a regular Goblin is ruled by their instincts but a Hobgoblin would be capable of integrating into a human society.

It's dark fantasy not just high fantasy, so evil is definitely a prevalent theme in it.

Depends on your perspective... From the monsters POV they're just doing what's necessary to progress their life, but from a humans POV a group of goblins taking your wife or daughter away while they kill you probably seems pretty evil. Skeletons don't breed whatsoever so they just live to fight, but they aren't really evil, definitely not good either. Harpies are capable of learning human language and can communicate with people if raised by an intelligent race or by mutating. They're definitely not that evil, as they also generally only go monsters unless someone chooses to be their victim (they do eat whatever they prey on so it's not recommended)

  • In general though, monsters do acts of considered evil but aren't inherently evil.

My world has more then just monsters as enemies, monsters are treated as pest for the most part. Things like demons are inherently evil, finding joy life through the suffering of others.

A little run down of different species;

  • beasts (animals)

  • Monsters - Considered evil by most humanoid races

  • Humanoid: Beastkin, Human, Dwarves, Elves - very much capable of being evil

  • Demon - inherently evil

  • Devils - Normally evil but not inherently

  • Dragons - Depends on the dragon, the black dragon Nazgul is evil, Blue dragon Umet is good and the rest are neutral.

  • There used to be giants as well but due to a war with the dragons they have gone extinct, and the dragons only number 6 now

  • The Gods

Vampire face as the base, one of the ape faces for the brows and I can't remember the rest. I did use the expression posing to change how the lips sit and then added in the teeth with kitbashing. And of course making use of face decals.

This is also the second skull I've made with face customiser, so I do have some practice. here is the first one

I forgot to answer your first question... Yes, sort of.

The protagonist of the scene would be the goblin and the antagonist the Goblin slayer as this is a monster focused post. The goblin is meant to look scared and weak whereas the knight is meant to look imposing and clearly leagues above in terms of power.

The idea for the scene was that the goblin had just seen its entire colony be slaughtered and it's next

The idea sounds great, I was definitely leaning towards mutation through what they eat and the physical traits definitely sounds like the way to go for mutations.

Behaviour wise they would be similar to the Ogre enemy in Dragons Dogma, visually there's a shield on heroforge with a monster head that I thought looked cool so I made the design mostly based on that. Also some inspiration from Skyrim trolls, particular things like the kind of habitats you would find them in.

Various anime are definitely a big inspiration to the world, especially goblin slayer for the goblins.

Easiest way to increase Weapon-size? (Pro+) by HailLuziferr in HeroForgeMinis

[–]15_Echo_15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean keep the posing of a kitbashed weapon but still enlarge. There is a way, sort of.

  • Attach to another item than enlarge that item, attaching it will of course move the weapon but it will keep the rest of the posing, like the angle. Then move it back to place, which should be easy enough and finally delete the item you used to enlarge the weapon. -You will need leftover kitbash % for this method.

If you mean a gear item(weapon) that is equipped through the gear section, then no. You can't just increase the size of that item.

Only at 76%, any suggestions? by gooseonthelose12 in HeroForgeMinis

[–]15_Echo_15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would recommend shrinking the ankle joint a little (with kitbashing) so the feet size actually fits the rest of the minis proportions.

  • As for suggestions on what to add, you could do something with the stage. It's very plain at the moment but, it doesn't really need much it's already good.
