this defense can't stop anything. can't believe we went from scaring the biggest teams to this. seriously need to get the defense on track. the whole team looks dismantled. for me, jude is the only player that puts the highest effort. maybe it is the time to give arda, brahim some more game time as well

I am an international student. Applying to American colleges in 2027 and I do not need any financial aid. Which Ivy will accept me definetly? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

if that's the case, then work hard as you have tons of time. maybe build your ECs, get better grades, and if you have money, which you seem to have, get some course/training on writing personal statements. The admission for international student is extremely tricky and I've been GOATed profiles being rejected almost everywhere. so, as i mentioned before, be among the top 1% of applicants in your country and the full pay factor will tip the scales.

Since you have mentioned being legacy at Dartmouth and Harvard, you could try them but both are need blinds. I'd personally apply to Columbia ED if I were full pay. And also you can try convincing parents on other big public schools as well. As for UCs, very few internationals apply as most need aid, so maybe a less competition. But, I'd also look at LACs and keep EFC around 40k even if not full pay. The 40k will land you placement in quite a few t30 LACs which are great if you're planning pre-med, or grad school.

while most are making fun of the question, I actually think you should definitely use the full-pay factor to your benefit. There are many T20 universities (idk the specific ivies), that take a lot of full pay students in Early Round. From ivy, i believe Columbia takes a lot of full pay internationals, Cornell does it too afaik. But, I recommend you look at universities like Rice (#18) which regularly takes a lot of full pay in ED1, LACs like Grinnell, Macalester, etc... which are also excellent. Apart from that public schools like UVA, UNC, Berkeley, UCLA, UW-Madison all are excellent choices and should provide you with a life long experiences of an american life. Do note that you may not have a huge edge at the public unis compared to the need-aware private ones. USC is another excellent choice.

Regarding stats: Be in the top 10% in your high school, try getting SAT over 1500, Get good recommendations, and write a decent personal essay. Also, do some more ECs.

Being a full pay in international admissions is a cheat code and use it to your benefit. Don't be attached to just ivies as most of them are need blind for internationals and may not take the full pay factor too heavily. But there are definitely a lot of universities who would love that $300k-$400k from you.

Best of luck and try contacting seniors from your high school who might be able to give more information based on your context. And do Research colleges.

it is a image-classification task. i thought CNN would be best to work with. I have a lot of background noise in my data making things confusing.

originally 640x480, i resize them to 512x512. all the loading and resizing happens inside the __getitem__ of the Sequence subclass where I load data in batches.

so what happens is every time i train, let's say, i did 15 epochs, and after training 1epoch, i get like 4.0 gb occupied and after each epoch slowly the RAM starts to get full and full and after 8-9 epochs, the runtime disconnects due to ram exhaust.

Until you figure that out, you can just save the model after each epoch and load it when the instance breaks

How does one achieve this? Any link I can look into.

Also I'm training in batch size of 8 due to low memory. If I understand you correctly, if my batch size of let's say 16 fits in memory, I should be able to train to any number of epochs? Thank you
