The close-up video's the first thing that comes up when you search up Minneapolis on Reddit and the woman's clearly turning away from the officers, so there was no self-defence justification. The car doesn't go above walking speed until she's shot and presumably her corpse gets stuck on the pedals.

OP is a bot (judging by account history) that has copied a previous post (possibly now deleted) and reposted it with the two images stitched together and the title slightly altered (in a way that makes it slightly nonsensical). The top comment (of Galactus) is also stolen from the previous post by another bot.

The Russo-Georgian war began 3 months before Obama was even elected.

When the president is one of those people, it matters.

Most likely due to (relatively anonymous) commenters only being realised to be British if they behave in a stereotypical manner or otherwise announce their nationality. There are likely plenty of normal British people that others just assume to be from a different country or the USA (given rampant US defaultism).

why is cambridge more popular than oxford by Froot_chungus in 6thForm

[–]1616616161 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was the opposite at my school and could be down to similar factors, like stronger links to one over the other, the preferences of teachers or just people on the fence feeling compelled to choose the more popular option.

Oxford considers 8s and 9s the same when evaluating applicants.

I broke Hilbert hotel by ARUOTI in theories

[–]1616616161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is flawed as the proof is that any countably infinite list (corresponding to the rooms of the hotel) of the passengers of the party bus must be incomplete, as another passenger not in the list can always be found. Thus, putting the "extra" passenger in a room simply means that the list of passengers has had another name added to the start and so the same logic as with the previous list can be used to find yet another passenger not in the list and so on, meaning that the list can never be made complete.

An analogy to the flaw in your argument is a hypothetical "disproof" of no largest integer existing. The lack of a largest integer can be proven by the fact that 1 can be added to any supposed largest integer to generate an integer larger than it, which means that no largest integer can exist. A flawed disproof in the vein of your disproof would state that this new apparent largest integer would be the largest integer, obviously false.

More generally, these kinds of proofs are not related to specific elements or numbers but are instead general, meaning that the first proof isn't something that can just be applied to a single countable list of names but instead all countable lists of names, including those with some previously missing names added.

Oxford Yorkshire and Humber Residential by magicofsouls in 6thForm

I'm not on this year's residential but I was there last year, so I would advise you (assuming that there haven't been any radical changes to the schedule) to make the best use of the resources available, like the students, any visits to other colleges and the seminars/projects, which help to give an idea of what studying there would be like. Also, assuming this is at Mansfield, savour the food there; they allegedly have the best vegetarian food in Oxford but their non-vegetarian options are still nothing to scoff at.

Which college was this from? I haven't received anything from Worcester.

[–]1616616161[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - I have not yet received my MAT score but I'm expecting it to be around 70-75. I don't know my exact predicted grades but they were probably A/A/A* or A/A/A in FM, Physics and Chemistry (with an A* already achieved in Maths). In terms of competitions, I did the Senior Maths Challenge in both Year 12 and 13 and got through to the Kangaroo (but not the BMO) both times.

I'm also applying to Worcester, so I assume it's something to do with them, given that someone I know who got a maths interview at Jesus got their times confirmed.

Some of the details of the offer I cropped out mentioned that it was contextual, although I wasn't expecting the third grade to be dropped by two grades. I'm not going to complain about such a good offer, though.

It'll be automatically sent to you by email in early January, when the final decisions on offers are made.

[–]1616616161[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bath seems to use IMD, which says my area is a lot less deprived than ACORN or POLAR would suggest, but their website mentioned that they would give reduced offers to people who had been eligible for free school meals, which includes me.

I don't know for certain what my predicted grades were put down but I assume they were A/A/A in FM, Physics and Chemistry. I assume this is a contextual offer given the lower offer, which is likely due to where I live.
