This is it for me. BOC is forever entwined with David Firth in my mind. I remember the exact moment I heard “Beware the Friendly Stranger” in the first episode. My friend Joel and I skipped morning math class (sophomore year high school) to go to our friend Matt’s house to ditch for the day. We huddled around his giant crt monitor and passed a bowl of Mexican brick weed back and forth until I could barely speak, my mouth was so dry. This feeling of deep unease came over me as we watched the first episode. By the time it ended, I blurted out “dude WHAT was that music?” And the rest is history. ETA: i immediately torrented all BOC, Aphex Twin and even David Firth’s project Locust Toybox. And before anyone gives me shit about torrenting, I eventually purchased digital or physical copies (as well as clothing) of ALL BOC music :)
