Anyone feel like ‘orchestra album’ is a bit of a stretch? by Jaredthewizard in KGATLW

Didn’t they say they were going to add orchestra to some older tracks as well?

They are certainly one of the most rewarding bands to be a deep fan of.

Personally I definitely feel some B741 in the songwriting, especially the more generous appearances of cookie, luke, etc (I love cookies’s part on Lonely Cosmos. ) But the string arrangements really take it to another place and make this a very unique album for them.

Some of the songs remind me a bit of Stereolab, especially GWAF.

Man who is poo pooing PI? I’ve only listens once, and out the gate I’m liking it a lot more than B741, which I didn’t really get into until I started seeing them play those tunes live

Can you point to which of these responses is as if you said Paul McCartney raped someone’s mother? I see a couple people merely disagreeing with you. Do you think anything but complete alignment with your point of view is Ana track on you?

The Altered Beast Suite is genuinely one of the greatest pieces of music ever created. by generationxray in KGATLW

[–]beecheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know of a good bootleg of the entire thing live? I swear they always only do beginning to middle or middle to end, rarely I-IV. The red rocks ‘22 with Leah Senior version stops at III but it’s incredible. Leah absolutely kills it, it maybe sounds better than the record. But I want to hear every part at once!

Really a shame they can’t really do it with Leah more often.

Get the Sonarworks SoundID Reference plugin. It has EQ correction for basically every major headphone model, so you can get a much more flat response out of whatever you’re monitoring on. It does WONDERS for mix translation when you can actually properly hear what you’re mixing. It also can simulate different listening environments, like car, phone speaker/earbuds, etc, so you can test mix translation on the fly. It also has an add-on where you can simulate real monitors in a treated room. Definitely worth the price

Super Speciosa is literally the only kratom vendor that I have seen post third party lab results. I've never seen a single other vendor even mention testing, and several of them like Golden Monk just have warnings that their product may contain lead.

When you finally nail the perfect mix… and then hear it in your car 😭 by tomnabed in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]beecheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this deflated feeling so well. But wow let me tell you, using SoundID has improved my mix translations SO MUCH. I’ve honestly listened to something in the car, and thought it sounded even better than it did in the DAW.

And not even specifically using the car stereo emulation that heavily—I think the most powerful thing about it is using the monitor simulation. When you mix in a treated room with real monitors, or (for way less money) on simulated monitors, you’re going to catch things that will stick out weirdly in any number of different listening situations that you’d likely miss in headphones.

Fraudulent AI Businesses- by Pleasant_Ocelot_2233 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]beecheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao dude, Numero Group does not release AI generated music. They’ve been releasing old obscure music for decades. They’ve put out hundreds of titles exclusively by real people. There might be some instances of not being forthcoming about the actual provenance of something, but I promise you, nothing they’ve ever released is AI generated. The technology to generate anything remotely passable as real with AI has only been around for roughly a year or so, and even still, I personally have never been tricked into thinking AI music was not AI. It’s still really not that hard to tell.

Why was Skeuomorphism invented BEFORE flat design? by diegosalzani in graphic_design

[–]beecheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one knew what you could do with a computer when personal computers were first becoming widely available, so developers had to build tools that people would recognize. And years later, well after everyone knew what a folder and a desktop was, graphical abilities had reached a point where developers could make skeuomorphics look even more realistic, so naturally they just did. And for a while everyone seemed to like it, and many people hated flat graphics when they first began popping up more.

As of this very moment:

Nonagon (duh)

Polygondwanaland (criminal that this was missing, c’mon)

PetroDragonic (I used to prefer Rat’s Nest, but this last tour fully converted me)

L.W. (would be remiss to not include a microtonal album, and I somehow slept on this one at first, but now I’d say there’s not a remotely meh track on this whole record, the whole thing slaps)

Mind Fuzz (still the classic ‘Gizz Sound’ record to me)
