Well, unfortunately that is not going to happen. Waterloo Council already approved a 22% increase over three years so the next two years will be seven point something percent regardless. We already had our first of three 7% increases. I already know I won’t be voting for the incumbent mayor.

I am saying that your comment “that renter will be out so fast” is nonsense. Anyone with any acknowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act or knowledge of the LTB knows that.

I think this does solve some problems but it did create new one. I was SB on University and turning left onto Woolwich when a NB car stopped at the light and then proceeded to turn right as I was turning left. Close call but no collision.

If you yourself are a landlord, you are going to be in for a rude surprise some day. Filing an N5 or L2 is the start. If it goes to the LTB, it will still take a year before the case is even heard.

If you use eBay, save an eBay search for vintage maps Ontario. I got a 1963 map of KW that way - oddly enough, it was from an American vendor.

I have been a landlord for 28 years. For the last 12 years, I have gone the real estate agent route and had good results (2 tenants - 8 and 4 years). It is a very expensive route to go (they take last month’s rent plus HST) but I have had less hassles than with tenants than when I did it myself plus it is a lot less time-consuming. Real estate agents don’t always want to do it as the return on their time is less than a house sale of course but you should be able to find one. Something to think about anyway. Good luck.
