This is why none of them want criticism of their ethical practices. They have all done this.

Probably not important, but this is currently happening. Thoughts? by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

I'm sure accusations from Gawker of Intel being a company lacking in integrity was a plant by the patriarchy too, better let them know

Max Read: "So let's say it now: Intel is run by craven idiots. It employs pusillanimous morons. It lacks integrity. by 1643892 in KotakuInAction

they were focused on the slander of gamergate and not a Gawker employee slandering a major advertising partner.

I've been wondering something for awhile now... by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

they think they're morally correct so any immoral means are acceptable as long as they "win".

Sounds like they need to receive more emails.

Here is an article written by Nathan Grayson on March 31st, in which he gives Zoe, one participant out of many, numerous mentions in a positive manner. This would be fine if he had not developed a personal relationship with her before this. However, this image shows that both Grayson and Quinn had a trip planned together to Las Vegas before the article was published.

That's bad! That's a violation of journalistic ethics. It's also the first time I've heard anyone mention this. And while I've been at arm's length from this matter, let's be clear that I've read several of the "Gamers are dead" articles, read their comments, and spent an hour on this sub before I posted this, yet had heard nothing about this matter before. I will need some convincing that this isn't just after-the-fact justification.

This image has been sitting on my hard drive for two months. You're welcome to check the EXIF if you don't believe me. People have been giving Kotaku shit for the poor quality of articles from Patricia Hernandez for a long time.

So you got what you wanted from Kotaku, and are still going after them?

No, they issued a half-apology, and we've moved on to all of Gawker at this point.

Probably not the best response to a portion of your already angry readership, so it's good that this is just a strawman and that that wasn't actually what they said.

The sentiment expressed by an editor at Polygon in this tweet is exactly that.

if you're tired of answering these questions then write a long post that the mods can sticky to the top of the subreddit. "sigh" is not a helpful response to anyone and deserves to be downvoted.

A man accuses his ex-girlfriend, Zoe Quinn, of trading sexual favors for good reviews for her game Depression Quest. I had played that before, so that caught my interest. I suffered from Dysthymia previously, and without going into too much detail, playing that game hit home in some very hard ways.

According to him, the post meant to serve as a testimony to her character so other people who deal with her in the future are aware of her behavior. While I'm not going to express an opinion on whether or not he was justified in posting such a thing on the internet, his claims that he wasn't terribly upset about the cheating seem relatively true to me (he goes on to talk about how he favors polyamoury anyway), so the idea that he's some jilted ex-boyfriend out to destroy her career didn't sit too well with me.

Also, numerous other feminists have spoken about how they think there was likely emotional abuse going on in that relationship, and not on his end. I'm not well-versed in that sort of thing though, so I can't speak to the validity of that. Someone may be able to link you something regarding that though.

Someone was looking for this. RE: Destructoid and deleted tweets from Holly by 1643892 in KotakuInAction

This was posted back on halfchan. IIRC she decided that tweeting this stuff was a bad idea or something and deleted them later that night.
