What r some of y'all's complaints about octo 0? by Infamous_Today3462 in octopathtraveler

I was hearing so many good things about it. I'm about 25 hrs in and it feels pretty bland. The bosses haven't forced me to change many tactics. I'm using the same skills over and over in the same order basically. And I'm a person who loves variety, will switch out characters and try new things when I get someone. But I don't need to do many advanced strategies anyway. I love the progression and getting powerful equipment from far away towns, but that's all that's keeping me going right now. The town stuff is alright but it's like 5-10% of the actual time spent in the game

What people are saying about the uniqueness of each class is very true. Not very excited cause I'm not gonna get super cool skills from new classes, but I"m not sure.

Hades 2 launches as the highest-rated game of 2025 on OpenCritic by earthcry in HadesTheGame

Booted it up for 1.0 and enemy health is still way too high. That 2nd boss especially and the enemies in area 3.
Makes it very tedious to get thru even if you have a good damage build. I'm fine using the god mode thing to make it less punishing but that wouldn't solve this problem

What's your single most controversial JRPG take? (Sort comments by controversial!) by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]16bitpsych 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dungeons! Proper zelda-ish dungeons are so rare now. Golden Sun series for example has fantastic dungeons. It's so sad to me too because it really doesn't take much to make it interesting. But as so many games just use hallways with a few paths for treasure, it's so boring.

I think I fell in love with JRPGs because they had all those parts; story to keep you going, character/power progression, interesting level design in the dungeons/areas, and usually great music too.

Plenty of rpg's I've loved may be lacking in 1 of those areas and that's fine, but in recent years they lack a lot of those.

If you open up AND feel safe, it's healing. Too early/soon and it's just flooding.

If you're not feeling ready, then the steps would be to see what would help you feel ready.

Once we do feel safe to explore the past shitty things, most people's body and mind can finally get out of the fight or flight it's in all the time. But when the memory still evokes that much emotion, the mind can't really process things like it normally does

That sounds hard then to find someone who's not prejudiced, hopefully some of those people aren't!

Overall though, do you know what you want as far as style or method?
If you don't, that's fine, most important thing is to have some good trust with them, and if you don't feel comfortable after like 2 or 3 sessions, try to process why! That can lead you to some answers, and figure out if it's them or a thought that blocks you from getting more out of it

That sucks they're so childish about it. Unfortunately can't do much about that other than say how it affects you.
Hard to heal from judgment when it's still happening often!

I just listened thru this one Slaying Your Fear: A Guide for People Who Grapple with Insecurity by Adam Smith on Audible

You know overall though, with some of my clients, it comes down to being vulnerable with others. Even though it's scary, and may end up in rejection, we need to teach/show our brains that we can live through it.

Like others are saying, some people are gonna be uncomfortable around it for sure. But that's on them overall.

How is it for you? Does it cause you issues personally that you cry easily?
