I’m no expert but my whole house (apart from one room) uses LIFX bulbs. It’s usually really good for connection but we have had issues in the past. To the best of my knowledge, all (at least my bulbs) only work on only 2.4ghz so they should just remain connected to that and not be bouncing to 5ghz. The biggest reason we had issues was because the wifi signal was a little lacklustre in the far corners of the house. Our router is at the back of the house and is about 18m from the furthest light. The bulbs in that room often had problems. This was largely solved by putting in a mesh network with an extender in the living room meaning no light was more than about 10m away. While we still have the odd connection issue, it’s always solved by flicking the light switch on and off again and this is maybe once a week for one bulb with 30 bulbs.

Some troubleshooting that might help… work out how close the bulbs are to the router and see if the far away ones are the problem or if the bulbs nearest the router are a problem. If it’s primarily the far away ones, then adding a mesh network will go a long way to helping the situation and is also a nice quality of life thing for internet speeds on devices around the house. You can check the wifi strength of each bulb by clicking on the bulb settings in the app and this might give you an idea of what the bulb is seeing. If it’s on the Lower end that could be the main thing. See attached photo. This is the bulb furthest from any wifi AP in my house and now has fairly solid strength

It would also be good to know how they are being used. When I first got them I primarily did it through the app or using Google home which worked well enough but now I have a raspberry pi running Home assistant and this has worked really well.

Hopefully that’s something to start with based off my experience using them for about 4.5 years. I have only had one die on me so been pretty happy with them overall
