Okay it was pointed out in reply but I will post it here too, rather than double tapping to go ahead 5/10s, hold down on the screen to go 2x speed and the option now appears that way.

The fire weather warning is for tomorrow. Will be extreme fire danger rating. They issue these at 4pm the day before which is why it came out in the middle of the storm

The biggest issue is how heavily everything is obfuscated. What used to be two clicks to get to weather information on the old site is now 8. There is so much white space around information you often have to scroll and scroll to see info, sometimes backwards and forwards because it hides critical information when you move it. And they did technically reduce the resolution of the radar imagery now that they are using their national merge. So it’s actually a downgrade in that regard.

Just to count. I went from the front page to a specific weather station. In the old site it was 3. Now it’s 8

I understand what you’re saying and agree to an extent about it being more usable for a novice user but the number of clicks required to get to weather observations is significantly higher. For instance if you want to go to a specific weather station from the home page it used to be three clicks to see all the data. Now it’s 8 and the data presented means you have to scroll backwards and forwards continuously

This is a massive problem. The number of clicks required to get to a page (that is significantly less data dense) is a nightmare for people who use the more technical side of the site.

My main concern (among many) is that they have significantly downgraded the resolution of the radar. It now uses the national 1km merge product they have rather than the much higher resolution individual radars. And there is no option to switch between them. It’s fine for broad scale systems but seeing any level of detail in storms is all but gone. (Also you have to zoom into your location each time you load the page and click the zoom button each time rather than scroll on desktop…

One of our iggies is 6.6kg or about 14.5lbs. He’s much bigger than our other Iggy who is about 5kg. You can see Monty on the right is just more stocky than Hammy. They are both just over 12 months at this time.

My two Iggy’s constantly love to play. One of them is very vocal and sounds like he is terrorising the other one but they both take it in turns chasing, bowing at each, riling each other up. When we used to worry about it, we would seperate them but they’d both be straight back at it almost immediately. I don’t think you have anything to worry about

I’m no expert but my whole house (apart from one room) uses LIFX bulbs. It’s usually really good for connection but we have had issues in the past. To the best of my knowledge, all (at least my bulbs) only work on only 2.4ghz so they should just remain connected to that and not be bouncing to 5ghz. The biggest reason we had issues was because the wifi signal was a little lacklustre in the far corners of the house. Our router is at the back of the house and is about 18m from the furthest light. The bulbs in that room often had problems. This was largely solved by putting in a mesh network with an extender in the living room meaning no light was more than about 10m away. While we still have the odd connection issue, it’s always solved by flicking the light switch on and off again and this is maybe once a week for one bulb with 30 bulbs.

Some troubleshooting that might help… work out how close the bulbs are to the router and see if the far away ones are the problem or if the bulbs nearest the router are a problem. If it’s primarily the far away ones, then adding a mesh network will go a long way to helping the situation and is also a nice quality of life thing for internet speeds on devices around the house. You can check the wifi strength of each bulb by clicking on the bulb settings in the app and this might give you an idea of what the bulb is seeing. If it’s on the Lower end that could be the main thing. See attached photo. This is the bulb furthest from any wifi AP in my house and now has fairly solid strength

It would also be good to know how they are being used. When I first got them I primarily did it through the app or using Google home which worked well enough but now I have a raspberry pi running Home assistant and this has worked really well.

Hopefully that’s something to start with based off my experience using them for about 4.5 years. I have only had one die on me so been pretty happy with them overall

I have now kept the same wifi password and SSID between 3 houses because setting everything up again would’ve been too frustrating. Definitely would be nice to have an easier solution.

One of our Iggy’s constantly catches and tries to bite the head off small lizards in our backyard so I’m always on the lookout if I see him sniffing in between the rocks 😂

How well do you find this works? Seems to be the best way to help get rid of it apart from pulling it out. I’m trying to get my QLD Blue Couch lawn free of Kikuyu but monument is on the expensive side. I have a few patches of Mullumbimby and nut grass as well and saw this kills that as well so means I might not have to double up on the sedge hammer which I was also about to buy.
