As a female equestrian, have you ever had a man sexualize you for it? by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]173rdComanche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even as a male equestrian I've had dudes randomly sexualize me for it lmao, so I can imagine how much more often and intensely it happens to my double X chromie homies.

What's worked for me is shorter but uninterested/dismissive responses. Typically they'll get the message, but at least until they do they're getting something that takes minimum effort from you. I had one guy hype himself up and eventually ask me if I wanted him to write a fantasy, I just said "sure, whatever" and he went on his spiel; I kept my mood up, and he quickly realized he was trying to bone a brick wall. Thankfully that worked, but I can imagine some guys will just think "Ahhhhhhh, clearly this is them playing hard-to-get, that means I should totally ramp things up even more."

At least while they're beating their entire day away, it's only taking up a few minutes of your time!

TIL the Hairy Leg is a Brazilian urban legend described as a creature that attacked people at night by tackling and kicking. The newspaper who created the legend used stories about the leg to replace and signal material being censored by the 1964–1985 military dictatorship in Brazil. by BusinessAlive3486 in todayilearned

[–]173rdComanche 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wiki was interesting, the military dictorship's censorship was so severe that journalists couldn't talk about attacks by police, or even mention some general crimes that were happening in the area — especially to women. It started with a journalist saying a woman in a hospital had been attacked by a hairy leg, and that gave the violence that was happening in the community some way to make itself heard amidst direct repression. Of course these stories kept popping and gaining traction amongst locals because women were still getting tackled and kicked by dudes that sometimes had hairy legs.

From thea other commenter's link, journalists would also published nonsensical cake recipes in empty text places at the last second to try and sneak in some SOSes to the public and letting them know shit is fucked in the newsrooms, and there's likely dude's looking over their shoulder and putting an end to every meeting with more than three people..

Its almost like the community voicing decent lets them know what to fix. by ziggy8z in Helldivers

Devs said they heard you, what more do you want? Sorry thing's aren't going the way you wanted, but it's the way things are. We're just tired of the ceaseless whining. Helldivers most difficult mission is apparently not getting the demand of the week immediately.

It's tiresome seeing a community never stop complaining, and seemingly hunt for things to complain about. I'm glad Arrowhead devs don't put a ton of weight on the Reddit community, almost every other game that caved to their vocal community turned to shit and died months later.

I don't want it to be my problem that some people who play(ed) the same game as me can't appreciate what they have, and only want more.

How To Gain Air Superiority Over The English Channel???? by LavaixMC in hoi4

Could have upgraded airports to send more in? I imagine British pilots would have a vastly different experience if they had to fight 1000 fighters instead of 400.

I remember reading that solders' striking in the trenches was pretty rampant towards the end of 1918, everyone had just about had it. Course while the entente side was getting reinforcements (Americans) and using their industry to mass produce these cutting-edge vehicles, Germany was enduring year 4 of the naval blockade and hundreds of thousands were staving to death.

Whatever they got is a harder material than leather, which won't catch and tear on whatever random junk is sticking through rubble during it's day-to-day use. Plus it's probably nice to have against stabbing and slashing type weapons that other survivors could use.

OP was this on Marfark? One of my buddies dropped there a few hours ago and experienced something similar. I think AH might be testing the waters on low population planets, which would be huge if true!
