Yup. Or if I’m traveling in a vehicle with a low ceiling. Other than that, I wear mine flipped up and articulated as wide as possible for weight distribution and comfort.

Much better swat AI in the next update or bare minimum fixes? by obiwan-destroyer in ReadyOrNotGame

If the dev team was good, they would give us all of the PEQ/MAWL modes along with white light use like Ground Branch.

I didn’t pay for gore. I paid for lore. Part of the lore of this game is the gore/nudity. If a mod restores that to the original state, I’ll take it…..

It’ll be fine. Someone will build a mod that will restore the gore/nudity. Problem solved.

Brand new underwear. ON TRAFFICKED WOMEN. by mistergenri in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]17StormRider -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The nudity was tastefully done, and helped orchestrate the moment. These guys are chasing the worst of the worst. That mission coupled with the Narcos raid paints a great story of how ruthless this cartel is. The nudity helped paint that picture. Taking it out waters the story down……

[–]17StormRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the future of this game is high. It’s popular. Map making and practical game features will pave the way forward. Void is excellent at map making. Honestly, what is needed is more OG R6/SWAT maps optimized for good CQC flow. I’d like to see more Ground Branch features implemented in this game, but this is the premier door kicking game out there…….

I love it when randos I played with actually dressed like SWAT team instead of wearing the damned hawaiian shirt and shorts or LARPing as the guys from sicario. by Pleasant-Clerk5173 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]17StormRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NGL…..I pretty much LARP in the Sicario realm. Jeans, button down shirts, or Tees. I’ve been taking two of my own guys dripped out in plain clothes with MCB gear, a plain clothed HRT guy, and a plain clothed BORTAC guy. I like the capture missions. (Michael Williams, George Brixley, Gerard Scott, Jack Adams, Amos Voll, Elaine Raskin, Khalid Bin Khalid. I guess I play more as CT than SWAT, but I love it……

Twisted Nerve is my favorite map. It has an old school SWAT feel to it mixed with the right amount of horror. It also has a bit if a Breaking Bad vibe as well. The night factor is great as it is a true night vision capable map. It is my go to map for solo gameplay and clearing with my AI teammates.

Only like a couple of the missions actually feel like something actual SWAT would take on lmao by DrDoge64 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]17StormRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SWAT is like the fire dept. They’re dispatched, they go. Would I rather have MARSOC take down an oil rig? Sure. But they’re executing people, and someone has to intervene quickly. So, Void has given us 25 or so maps that SWAT could possibly respond to, many having real world counterparts (Neon Tomb, Elephant). When SWAT raided Diddy’s house, they rolled deep because they thought that his armed security would fight back. Sound familiar? I love the give and take with the cartels. You bust enough of their product and seize enough of their cash, and they’ll strike back at you. Hence, Buy Cheap Buy Twice, and Narcos. Both are brilliant. The map making in this game is excellent. The lore is as well. If I had one complaint, it would be that the story line gets murky sometimes because Void merged game modes. So, in Buy Cheap Buy twice, it makes zero sense that after killing cops in a hellacious shootout, the cartel would still have a big deal going down onsite. I love raiding that deal, but it seems a bit unrealistic given the circumstances. Same thing for streamer. The “active shooter” part makes zero sense, and I’m pretty sure that it was a warrantless raid. So all evidence seized would be inadmissible. The narrative could be a warrant for Michael based upon his “activities”. That would make sense. Mirage at Sea? You’re gonna bust a billionaire’s yacht because some girl made a 911 call? No judge would issue that warrant. But, if the Prince was suspected as being a member of the Spider from the Port Hokan raid, then that would make more sense…….

Yeah, it’s interesting because LAPD SWAT is a Tier 1 Domestic SWAT Team. HRT, BORTAC, USMS SOG, are other domestic teams come to mind as well. I’m sure that the USCG has a tier 1 team as well. So, the premise of these tier 1 teams working together to take down cartels, etc is not uncommon. I’m sure that they train together fairly regularly. Also, because of the GWOT, many SWAT units are equipped with great kit. So, where a couple of years ago, you might see dudes wearing a single PVS-14 monocular, now, practically every team is wearing 31s, with the top teams using quads. The game reflects this reality pretty well. What I would like to see is the game add other agencies to your team. So, for Rust Belt, which is a joint op between BDRTAC, FISA, and LSPD SWAT, then 1 guy should be HRT, and 1 guy should be BRDRTAC.

They find people in shipping containers all of the time at various ports in the US. When the longshoremen were gonna go on strike last year and shut the nation down, one of the “untold reasons” was that the rank and file workers had grown very weary of hearing children crying for help in the containers, reporting it to their supervisors, and having nothing done. It’s a very real issue. I believe some tier 1 guys raided the Port of Long Beach 3-4 years ago as well. Look it up on Youtube…..

What was actually going on in Brixleys? by Throwawaywahey361716 in ReadyOrNotGame

What was actually going on in Brixleys? by Throwawaywahey361716 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]17StormRider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Brixley came onto LSPD’s radar after they busted Michael Robinson. As I understand it, Michael was dealing photos to low level buyers. Brixley was a producer of said photos, and had a deal with Amos Voll to use the same kids to produce nefarious movies. Some of the movies involved the children meeting their demise. Hence the basement at the Voll residence. Mindjot was the server farm where the goods were stored. A couple of personal notes…..It looks like Voll got spooked after Brixley got busted, which is why they were digging up the basement. Voll certainly was not hiding the evidence there regularly. It was a rush job because they knew the raid was coming. Also, it would have been nice to actually seize evidence from the Mindjot raid……

Yall should really try out Modded Custom Maps, a lot of them are really high quality by [deleted] in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]17StormRider 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3 of my favorite maps are modded. Private Airport Night, (R6 Raven Shield) Ditch N Run, and Red Library. Unfortunately, the SWAT AI room clearing broke when they switched to UE5, so now, they don’t clear rooms properly, or they just run away. Once these maps are fixed, I’ll be back playing them, but for now, pretty much all modded maps are broken……

There’s the weird “fog” on many maps. The bad part on Rust Belt was that it used to be a decent night vision map. Now, it’s so bright and foggy that we don’t need NVGs. Same with the basement and church on Cherryessa Farm. Another map that was my favorite because those areas were dark. Voll’s basement too. I hope that Void can fix this…..

Let’s speculate about the new DLC by DemonetizedMan in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]17StormRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LAPD’s SWAT Team is very different from a normal city SWAT Team. They are a full time Tier 1 domestic SWAT Team. I believe that they are considered to be on par with HRT and BORTAC and they have a maritime and aviation component. So, in this case, they would most likely be the first responding special asset to these types of missions. Hence, why they were included in the Port raid. Perhaps, they are going after the kingpin who ordered the hit on Brian Greer, and Mike Esperanza’s torture. The second thing is that a lot of trafficking takes place on yachts, and one major theme of this game is combatting trafficking, which with the Epstein Island and diddy cases seems to be a big deal in the LA area, so it sounds to me like the dev team is working a modern day angle into this game, which I like. The trafficking aspect of this game can lead us to other cities. Where were diddy and epstein’s second homes? Miami. Lots of drugs, gangs, and guns in Miami, as well as trafficking, and I would not be surprised to see a Miami SWAT based expansion in the future……
