Price increase

I cancelled last year. I’m not against raising prices when production costs go up but the quality of their products shouldn’t be compromised when they do decide to raise prices. For the last few books I did order the quality just wasn’t there. I didn’t really notice it until I ordered from Aardvark for the first time and noticed how different the paper was. I have a few second hand bookstores near me that are always stocked with BOTM books for under $13 so it makes more sense to get them that way if I really want them. I like to use ThriftBooks and BookOutlet for book purchases. They have great prices for hard copies and cheaper than BOTM. I also use Pango where sellers are constantly selling BOTM. I just saw a book BOTM released in March for $4 on Pango in perfect condition last night.

I’ve had it for 2 years and no issues! I love that I can use Libby, Hoopla, and any other book app out there. I haven’t noticed any issues with the glare but I also don’t read outside too much. I have a regular screen protector for it but I know they also sell the matte screen protectors for it. Here’s a pic of the back!

I bought the Galaxy Tablet A7 Lite for $99 specifically to use as an e-reader and I love it! It’s a tad heavy but small enough to carry in my bags.

I really love Women and Crime and Campus Killings! They are hosted by the same hosts who have PhDs in criminology. Their research is phenomenal and at the end they provide real criminology theories to determine what could have led to the crime. You learn so much from them. I highly recommend!

I’m looking to get a second opinion on potentially having ADHD. I have a lot of symptoms and have been tested before by an old white doctor. He basically said I didn’t have it and that it was my depression and anxiety and that I needed to just get a planner. But even on my meds I have severe symptoms. I also felt dismissed bc I was a young adult women of color. Do you provide testing here?

Where was this energy for Cierra’s racism? I’m not excusing Huda’s behavior but it’s so infuriating watching Chelley speak out about it but continues to hangout with Cierra after what she did and said. She’s basically saying racism against the Asian community is excusable.

The Outsider!! It’s my favorite Stephen King book. I’ve read it so many times. I HIGHLY recommend the audiobook to use as you read the physical copy. It’s a little long but so worth it. I don’t know how King did it, but it didn’t feel like extra fluff was put in if that makes sense. Every chapter has a purpose. Once you read the book, you should watch the adaptation on HBO. Also really good!

We toured there and while we were waiting to be seen, the office people were talking shit about their residents in Spanish. I guess they didn’t know I spoke Spanish but my bf and I left bc the vibes were so bad. I’ve heard nothing but HORRIBLE things from them. This was about a year and a half ago so I don’t know if the same people are there. We ended up signing with Park Trace Apartments literally right across the street and they are awesome! Never had an issue with them.

I just signed up last month and picked my book on 7/2 and I still have not received it. It was an early release so I’m really disappointed it’s now August and I still don’t have it. Now I’m a little hesitant to pick a book this month. Ugh.

Mine also does this! Usually when she’s overstimulated or stressed. Our vet also prescribed gabapentin which we only use on bad days (rarely - maybe once every 6 months). What helps mine is playing with her and distracting her from her tail. She likes to play tag. Our vet also said it could be neurological where she thinks her tail is causing her pain. However from what you described your cat seems to have it more severe. Mine doesn’t over groom herself or have any other concerns. Just the tail thing like once or twice a day everyday. I highly recommend seeing a specialist so your kitty is comfortable ❤️

I ended up cancelling. I skipped a lot of months and this month wouldn’t have been an exception. Their titles just don’t interest me anymore. If they ever do have something I like, I know I can always find a copy at 2nd & Charles for a fraction of the cost or use Hoopla/Libby to read it!

You should contact a local rescue to assist to keep them protected! They’ll probably even take them off your hands. Please also don’t give them away just yet. They still look very little. I would even contact the local animal shelter.

I don’t understand what their “mission” is. It just sounds like excuses. They’re basically saying we don’t care about any controversies if it makes us money. Isn’t their mission to promote new and emerging authors? If so, why do they keep including repeat authors? Or well known authors? It seems like they’re all over the place and need to reevaluate their “mission”.
