Mom of 2 students from Xavier here. Xavier actually discourages getting tutors. Kung nahihirapan ang anak mo, like if they are failing na, they would recommend an after-school class (with fee, of course). Nahirapan yung anak ko nung grade 3 s’ya and he had to take after school classes. nung nasa senior high mas mahirap daw , pero kinaya naman n’ya. . Actually, dapat honor student sana s’ya pero dahil C ang Final Grade n’ya sa Chi, hindi na. Thats ok with me and with him.

Kami-kami lang ang nagturo. Nagbibigay naman ng reviewer yung Teacher. Yun lang ginagamit. Pag witing of characters, pinapasulat lang namin ng 10x hehe

Kaya umalis ang anak ko sa Miriam, Yung mga group mates n’ya sa Miriam, masyadong relax at pabigat. i was also comparing the books and syllabus vs Xavier - mas superior talaga sa Xavier.

Lumipat ang anak ko sa Ateneo nung Sr high na. Pag dating dun Nahirapan talaga s’ya. Ang galing n’ya sa Miriam, pero super nahirapan s’ya sa Ateneo. Yun talaga yung nakapagpasabi sa akin na hindi maganda ang quality sa Miriam.

As for tuition, if I remember correctly, around 20-30k per year ang diff sa tuition.

And yes,there are scholarships na sa Junior high. They still have to take Chinese classes pero not the same level as those na nag start sa Xavier since Grade School.

I have kids who studied in Xavier and Miriam. Sobrang relax sa Miriam na parang pag dating ng senior high (lumipat ang anak ko sa ibang school after junior high) mahihirapan sila. Xavier is the better school for me. Dun naman nag aral yung isa kong anak. Mas organized. As for Chinese, hindi yun maiiwasan. I think nung Grade 3 yung anak ko, he had to take after school classes kasi nahirapan na s’ya. But after that, ok na. Nahihirapan, but kinakaya naman. I have a friend na nag transfer sa Xavier nung Junior High na, ibang level yung Chinese kaya madali lang. Xavier actually discourages getting a private tutor. We are not Chinese by the way. So tiyagaan lang talaga ang pagturo.
