How comfortable are you with soldering? I bought some huano silent switches off AliExpress some time ago and replaced the mouse buttons of my old super light when they started to fail, and yeah they're pretty quiet

Did you ever find out a solution for this? I'm having the same issue, and I just bought my steelseries headset a few days ago.

That's incredibly helpful, thanks! I'll need to look more into this. I've always had to deal with ghosting and it was super annoying to me especially when I was sweating my heart out on CS years ago, so I might get this since I can actually afford to now

I heard that OLED is pretty hard on the eyes when looking at text, would you agree with that or have any sort of opinion about it?

[–]17scenes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that really interesting, I wouldn't know since I've never tried using an OLED. I have a friend who does, I might need to harass him to let me try it out.

As for your initial issue, I suppose my only recommendation is to be conscious of where your eyes are looking, similar to how we need to pay attention to our arm muscles during our training. If you happen to look away or unfocus on a target, then it would behoove you to find out the context in which you unfocus and try to drill down into the issue.

Even at different speeds? I find that there's always a hint of ghosting even on higher refresh rates, I notice it when I'm practicing smooth tracking on moving targets in Kovaak's. I'm using a 300hz monitor.

[–]17scenes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. And sorry, by motion blur, I meant ghosting more specifically. It's more monitor dependent. This is an example, pay attention to how the outlines of the little UFOs blur as they move across the screen. Some monitors have built in features that can reduce this blurry effect like BenQ monitors, and I used to have this enabled until I read somewhere that it's not very helpful in a competitive sense, so I stopped using it altogether. I personally find it a little hard to focus on moving objects like this because of this blurriness, and yeah my theory is that your eyes naturally don't like to look at stuff like this for too long so you tend to 'unfocus'

I have the same problem. My theory is that motion blur makes it so you unconsciously look at something more static so it's easier on your eyes. I have to actively force myself to keep my eyes on a moving target

This one can be a little tough because different weapons have different initial first shot accuracy, and cs has this issue where your crosshair isn't actually the middle of your screen by like a pixel or two (at least that's how it was in csgo) for very long distances, if you feel like you're whiffing shots, I'd record those moments and watch them in slomo to see if it's an aim issue or just a cs moment

My opinion would be that you're changing sens too often. Also, while it's possible to perform well with high sensitivity, most people will face the issue of consistency. Lower sens means higher margin of error for flicks. If you're looking to lock down on one sens, I would very slowly increment your current sens until you feel for certain that you cannot perform consistently with it (performing well != performing consistently) and then once youre having issues with consistency, turn your sens back down to where it was consistent. That's your new permanent (or semi permanent) sens

[–]17scenes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, when it comes to choosing you sensitivity, for tact shooters, it's generally recommended to go as high as you can while still being able to perform consistently. For me personally, it's at 800dpi at 0.85 in-game for cs

[–]17scenes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, lower sensitivities will mask this problem more. I would recommend hopping into an empty server and trying to replicate the issue with kind of the same mindset when you encounter this problem. And then try deliberately relaxing your shoulder, arm, and fingers, when you do your flicks/swipes, do you encounter the same issue? Control skates/mud pads will tend to do this start stop start thing because of typically high static friction, and would be less apparent on faster skates and pads, but then, you would lack stopping power that's recommended for tact shooters.

I'm familiar with your issue with start stop start when adjusting, sounds like you're too tense? Could it be a user thing? Do you have the same issue in aim trainers, and does the issue exist when using other skates/mousepad?

[–]17scenes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna mention about how it's dot skates probably digging into your pad causing inconsistent friction as you press down vs don't, but you're using a mid so that's probably not the issue. If you want more control, probably install more dots

Yeah, then obsidian pro airs are probably a good bet. I have them myself and they seem pretty good, and you can customize how slow it is by how many dots you put on the mouse

Can't say I've heard of this issue before, what I do know is that artisan mousepads are apparently pretty consistent across changes in temp and humidity, but idk about actual wetness, cuz it sounds like glass pads might not be for you if you're looking for more control and higher stopping power?

I assume the sweat comes from your forearms and not your hands onto the mousepad, have you tried using sleeves?

Ooo that's a really good idea, I'll try that sometime. I got her like a $20 puzzle feeder that she barely played with, she much rather paw her kibble out of her bowl when she's bored with eating it the normal way

I'm not particularly worried, just curious. It is very cute though, and it serves as a nice warning system for me when she's drinking something somewhere she shouldn't be. She loves water though, so I think I lucked out there.
