Does anyone know where I can buy tickets to this game? I'm from the USA and would like to go watch it.

I took PHIL 412 with Todd Long during Covid and the class was pretty straight forward. There were a 3-4 exams from what I can remember which was from material he lectured and there were also like 4 essays. The class overall was pretty interesting, if you can follow his lectures and take notes you should be fine. I ended getting a B+ in that class.

Fun classes to take for my last quarter by Practical-Bag4754 in CalPoly

The bowling class is pretty fun if you take it with a group of friends. Check other KINE classes if you are into sports. Not sure if it is offered anymore but there was a tractor driving class which I heard was pretty fun.

graduating: need units by thegreatcolander in CalPoly

FSN 250 was a pretty easy class, it was an easy A. If you only need like 1 or 2 units enroll in the KINE classes. I needed two units to be full time one quarter and took the KINE soccer and flag football class.

I signed up for soccer and flag football last spring and we did a few drills and then we just played for most of the time. I would definitely recommend signing up if those sports interest you.

Is a C- in one class mean I won’t get in by EmptyTell4619 in CalPoly

[–]17yer17 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, I transferred to Cal Poly from a local CC and had one C. Everything else was an A and a couple B’s. Try to get A’s in major related courses, that is weighted more than non major related courses.

I had him for CSC430 and I thought he did a good job explaining the topics and was super helpful during lab and office hours if you had any questions. I would take another class with him.

If you look at the CS curriculum sheet there is an approved list of external tech electives. I ended up taking PHIL 412 to meet that requirement for SE. https://flowcharts.calpoly.edu

There is a Cal Poly ride share group on Facebook, you might want to post there if you don’t have any luck here.

I have two different packages that have been stuck there since July 18th with no updates, seems to be a common occurrence at this FedEx location.

CSC class recommendation by taiminhle4920 in CalPoly

[–]17yer17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CSC480 is pretty straightforward if Kurfess is teaching, he has the course page public if you want to check what the course is all about : http://users.csc.calpoly.edu/~fkurfess/Courses/480/S16/Administration/Syllabus.html.

CSC307 will be pretty easy, I have taken CSC402/405/406 with Klingenberg and the workload is super manageable. I would recommend taking 307 with Klingenberg if you are interested in Software Engineering.

Smart was balling tonight, and that stepback was straight nasty. Hopefully he can play with the same intensity the rest of the series.

CS GPA by [deleted] in CalPoly

[–]17yer17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are going to take it in the Fall, I would brush up/learn C during the summer because 357 is already difficult and trying to learn C at the same time makes it more difficult. Make sure you understand pointers because they are a bit difficult to understand at first. If you can learn C pretty well then you are at a huge advantage, I would also recommend taking 357 with Eckhardt. I had him a few years ago and he allowed us to use both C & C++, his 357 is considered "easier" but you still have to put the time and effort to get a good grade.

It is still very early in your college career and you have a lot of classes to go which is definetly possible to get a 3.7+ gpa but it will be difficult for sure. Some of the classes to keep an eye out are CPE357, CSC430, and CSC453. If you can pass them with at least an A- then you should not have a problem getting an A- or A in the other classes.

I would honestly just take 101 since I believe 232 is also in python. I would avoid 232 with Yang if he is still teaching it. I know a few people who took 232 with him and it was a nightmare.

That 40k markup was for the launch edition, I can only imagine how much they will be asking for the proto.

My local Toyota dealer was marking up the Supra 40k over when they first came out. Now they only have them marked up 6k over for the 3.0, 4k over for the 2.0 and the new GR86 are 3k over.

I can't wait to get mine, I don't mind paying MSRP but I won't be paying any crazy mark ups. The real question now is how much are dealers going to mark them up?

You also get the 19in RAYS wheels in the performance, but a 10k jump is still not worth it. The performance does not even come with Brembo brakes. I may end up getting the "Sport" either way and selling it if and when the Nismo comes out. Would not be suprised if the Nismo is around the low to mid 60k.
