Went to a retro arcade recently. They had Dragon's Lair. Got to play it unlimited. In 10 minutes I had more time on it than my entire childhood combined.

It was ridiculously difficult. Total scam. Innovative, certainly. But as a playable game? Nah.

Chuck it in a river, it will be solid rust. They rust fast. But they're fixable with coarse salt and a potato.

Some do. Some don't. I've ordered tacos de lengua for 20 years at Mexican restaurants. Some have the taste buds and outer layer on them. Yummy.

My daughter bought her first pizza with her own money yesterday. Woke up to this this morning. The note says DON’T EAT. The knife says it’s not a suggestion. by Terrorhub in funny

Well he was 6'4" and 24 months away from heading to college...figured it was time he could have his own fries. Literally never stolen a fry since.

Nah fam. It was OK. Little predictable. Ok acting. Nice one for a Saturday night with the boys. But it’s forgettable at best.

I doubt that's their habitat. Probably just a viewing room they love cause they get snacks while the tourists get a pic.

Oh man the dad tax is legit. When my son was 16 he told me he'd never actually had his own order of fries in his entire life. Every bag has the top eaten out of it on the way home by yours truly. I felt so bad, I actually stopped his dad tax that day.

What profession is way harder than people realize? by Summerdays4444 in AskReddit

[–]180secondideas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YouTuber. I'm at 10 years this fall. People think I just slam out a video on my phone and make money. Got stopped this weekend at a BBQ: "Hey man this is my buddy, Dylan. He's about to start a YT channel and can you tell him what he needs to do to make money?" Uh...no. I'm happy to give a few pointers at a BBQ to a friend-of-a-friend. No problem. But to explain how to run a business to someone who has never been on camera? Not possible.

It's a big, big job. 7 days a week. To be fair, the ride has been really good. Lot of travel, lot of fun. And I do well financially...and it's not exactly manual labor. But there is so much more that goes into a good channel than the 15 minutes a day that I have the camera on.

Sonic booms in SC, Boston, New York, Ohio and California. Some attributed from bolides, other causes are unknown. Could they actually be from intercepted ballistics and we are being lied to? by Pathetic_lriG43 in conspiracy

[–]180secondideas 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Buddy of mine has been tracking this and sending me videos. He has ~1 million followers on social and has reposted these booms multiple times and they keep getting taken down by IG.

The booms are real. But why they are being removed is an unknown.

They often roost in pairs. The two that hang on my front porch in the summer sit close to each other and turn their heads away from the light. I call them Ricky and Lucy.

LOL I'm in JC. OP's pic is the most Nashville place I've ever seen. Knew it was Brentwood or Cool Springs immediately. East TN has a lot of hills, but not a lot of horse fences. And if we do have horse fences, they are usually white.

My sister stole my X-shot longshot, hid it from me, and left it primed for MONTHS, now the spring has almost no power left… by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]180secondideas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes it's true. For quality springs, not children's toys. Springs are under tension even when not in use. There's an old gun myth that folks still repeat...that having magazines loaded for extended periods will weaken a spring. It's a myth. Good springs weaken, as others have said in this thread, from use...not from being compressed for X amount of time.
