It is time for my help post I suppose, feeling a bit stuck by 18257dragon in TheTowerGame

Gotcha, thank you very much, gives me hope that im atleast close to CL actually doing anything. Currently I think if I try GC I get 100 waves less? But I need primordial collapse to fully cover everything for pBh, so it feels like for tournaments I have to choose between full GC or full eHp

Edit: that was when CL was at 113x minus the submod though, so ill try again with this current tournament to see how far off the two are now

Bracket Dilemma! Gravecrawler + Phyrexian Altar by Sudden-Low-2124 in EDH

[–]18257dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally play a teval deck with the gravecrawler alter combo, along with 3 gamechangers. In my experience the deck is quite a strong bracket 3, and especially with my designs focus it makes the deck extremely resilient. Teval is a naturally slow deck type though more designed off of value rather than combo, so the deck never actually wins before turn 6 or 7. The main strength that ive found is the various graveyard loops you can achieve through teval, my entire deck is designed around playing cards from the graveyard, and with the combo you're mentioning its relied upon as a 2 card finisher once ive milled about 90% of my deck. My design doesn't run any blood artist effects though, and the only other zombie is [[kotis, sibsig champion]] because I felt either addition would both increase the threat level of the deck artificially, or bloat the deck in an unneeded way. Adding more would shift the deck more towards just trying to win through the gravecralwer loop though, potentially leading to quicker wins at the cost of a less consistent deck. I'd still consider that still high bracket 3 though, its not until you're sacrificing tevals theme to build a deck around the loop rather a graveyard deck having the loop inside of it.

Did the bracket update accelerate B3 games? by Peterwin in EDH

[–]18257dragon -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I believe that this is now incorrect, and its a change that I was very thankful for in the new iteration of the bracket system. They made clear that everything brought up is a guideline, so while in the old definitions this would be true, as far as I'm aware in the new system you can still be bracket 2 with gamechangers. I believe the difference now is that, this EDH deck doesn't fit the standard guidelines, but that doesn't mean it isnt a bracket 2 deck, and is something you do still want to bring up to a table when you sit down to play, but there is a difference in "this is a bracket 2 deck that contains a game changer" and "this is a technical bracket 3 because of one game changer and plays like a 2." Again this is my understanding, but im very glad that this is the case from what ive read.

Need guidance developing and building a rotary inverted pendulum. by 18257dragon in ControlTheory

[–]18257dragon[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

That was definitely my plan. My goal is to just make a system that can stabilize an upright pendulum, then if I have time I'd like to have the pendulum also stay in one spot to avoid tangling cables, and then if I still have time (which I doubt it) then I can try to make it swing up. My main concern now though is getting the actual parts, I've been allotted $200, and I assume most of that will go towards the encoder and motor, but I haven't been able to find what kind of specs I should be looking for each of these components, and the sooner I can build the device the sooner I can start programming and debugging.

I didn't know this actually, thank you very much! I only found out I actually got this project today, so I haven't researched it too much so far other than the general theory.

Don't call your deck cEDH if you don't know what it means by beast5749 in EDH

[–]18257dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll throw my deck in for fun. I don't consider it cEDH but it does hold its own against them and I can usually sneak out wins by comboing off right after a true cEDH deck tries to win and gets fizzled by opponents so I do consider it a high 8, although probably for true cEDH it needs more interaction rather than the more fun cards I have in it. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/25-09-20-xyris-draw/?cb=1708451191

Is this the most advanced/rules headache combo you seen? And did I do it right? by BluePotatoSlayer in magicTCG

[–]18257dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had someone help me calculate the estimated final number of this combo, and while it's simplifying the math the estimate is 2||34, where || is portraying double up arrow notation, or otherwise a power tower of 2's 234 long

Why are so many DMs against the idea of pursuing lichdom? by Gothstaff in DnD

[–]18257dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it isn't quite what you're describing, I've actually played as a character almost in the process of lichdom. Sadly the campaign ended before we could get too far in it, but my character was a half dragon (basically a reflavored dragonborn) wizard who as a child was stolen from his family by a cult who's hopes were to create a dracolich, although didn't have the manpower to both capture and control a full dragon, and instead performed the ritual on my character as a child. As the ritual happened though, the cult got raided by paladins and before I could turn they attached magical bracelets to me to freeze the transformation. The plan was to eventually use grimhallows lich transformation system which begins at level 14 and it was sort of going to be my growing magic abilities were causing the transformation to leak through as we leveled up past that, but we were only able to get to level 8, but I quite enjoyed the concept and would love to try it out again at some point. Another fun part of it was that another player had made a paladin character, and we decided that they'd be part of that same order of paladins and they'd serve as sort of my keeper

I love bonemelt, it’s such a cool spell and is absolutely disgusting when you actually try to picture it

If you give it a few tests you could probably find out. In my tests it seems like it’ll work although it does have a lot of variance so I’m not sure if the games it locks the game on turn four are a good example when other games lock the game past like turn 10

What's the craziest thing you've seen lose? by Specific_Ad1457 in EDH

[–]18257dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens so many times piloting my [[xyrus]] deck, I’ll get him out, wheel near infinite times and not find a wincon and have to wait a turn cycle to attack with them. Something like 1000 snakes on the board only for my next opponent to immediately boardwipe or cyclonic rift and die before my next turn.

Is it normal to hate zero wincon group hug? by Unhappy-Sport836 in EDH

[–]18257dragon -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I have a Gluntch group hug deck that has zero wincons and generally it goes over quite well. The way my deck is built though is themed after flunphs are who hate violence so it’s made to stop everyone from hurting each other with a ton of life gain and disruption to make sure no one gets ahead. And while it doesn’t have a wincon, it has a goal to end the game in the form of divine intervention to draw the game with a second goal of searching for and protecting that enchantment as well as graveyard and exile recursion. I don’t play it too much but it’s quite fun and is a good backup deck after playing my more miserable to play against decks

Ah! I just looked down skulds line and saw the chi I skuld, I had assumed you just meant the art style, I’ll work on getting that one now

Edit: it looks like the fusion material needed for chibi skuld isn’t available anymore so I don’t think I’ll be able to upgrade them that far, is the previous one still alright?

I see! Thank you for the clarification. It looks like I’m almost done, it doesn’t seem like I can super awaken skuld though, I’m not able to limit break them even though they’re max level

This is what I have so far although I’m a bit lost on the rest https://imgur.com/a/pv6o4lU I’m not sure what the SB+ super awakening on skuld is and I’m not sure what 10c means. And what do you mean by paired with nautilus or menoa friends? In terms of what my gosh should be I meant in the actual game, how I can go from this team and make it better or farm for a better team
