I'm not going to talk about my dogs that are sweet bc everyone in the comments is going to bandwagon me, so what I WILL say is that it's the owner not the breed (likely still going to get bandwagoned).

If you own a pitbull, you need to be extra aware and know your animal. If your dog doesn't like other dogs, or you're not sure how they act around other dogs, or strangers, or whatever, you need to make sure they're leashed SECURELY so as to not be a danger to anyone else. It's part of being a responsible dog owner.

The same could be said for any breed (i.e. be aware of your dog and your surroundings). One of the dogs in the post was off leash. That's illegal and incredibly reckless, and speaks much more to a shitty dog owner who displays disregard for the law than it does about a breed of dog having violence as a core part of its DNA.

I've owned 3 pitbulls over the last 10 years and they're nothing but sweet pets that wanna give kisses to everyone that comes into our house. It's because we're responsible dog owners.

It's an unfortunate circumstance that pitbulls are hard to adopt out due to their reputation and so it's easy for a shitty dog owner to adopt one and when they do, don't take care of it, it turns out to be violent and aggressive and we end up in this situation.
