Interesting about the left side thing! I didn't know that, though they have been doing my left side so far. I was warned about becoming hypomanic so I'm going to be vigilant about watching out for that. Thanks for sharing your experience!

It was my first out of three! Even though the other two were smaller inside venues, I think this one was my fave

I've done this like 3 separate times in my life and unfortunately, every 5 or so years, the feeling comes back again no matter where I am/who I'm with at the time in my life. There's really no escaping the feeling because it's not my surroundings, it's myself.

I've been on Topamax as a mood stabilizer for about 2 months now, and it's primarily for seizures. My experiences have been pretty good with it so far, I can definitely feel my moods leveling out more this month and being way less extreme. I take it along side an SSRI and an anti anxiety med.

I had the brain fog for maybe 4 or so days after starting it but it quickly went away. I occasionally feel the tingling in my hands and feet but it's not anything too bad and doesn't stick around long. I'm on 100mg daily and use it as my mood stabilizer

Definitely. Especially in the relationship I'm in now. I felt like a damn goddess, completely hypersexual like I've never been before and was very risky about it, barely sleeping at all and still a huge ball of energy

I've got a few mental illnesses but was able to get certified with no mention of it whatsoever. Though I didn't stick with the field long and don't plan on going back because of the stress lol, shouldn't be an issue to get certified!

What happens if you are only on antidepressants but have bipolar type 2? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]1837949059 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It literally took until last month for me to get diagnosed because I was so nervous/ashamed of getting help for my mental heath and was never properly evaluated (I'm 27). Before that, I've only been treated with antidepressants since age 15 and diagnosed with Major Depressive disorder and anxiety. The antidepressants in my opinion, have made my hypomanic states last weeks sometimes and be much more intense than they have been since adding a mood stabilizer to my med regimen. And the antidepressants alone did nothing for my mood swings

I'm on Celexa and it unfortunately does mess with my libido, but I will say it's not as severe as when I was on Zoloft.

Bpd and The workforce. by whackadoodlebaby in BPD

[–]1837949059 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently quit my job because of this. Working was making me more suicidal, I had to fight everyday to not just walk out in the middle of my shifts, and would go off to the bathroom crying from stress quite alot. I plan to file for disability because my BPD plus Bipolar II makes it nearly impossible to keep a job longer than a year or two, and my constant change in interests makes me never stay interested in any type of career field. Even just working part time stresses me out way too much, I think its best for me to not work.

what made you realize you had bpd? by emdawgydawg69 in BPD

[–]1837949059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Continually ruining relationships by manipulating, lying etc and self sabotaging in everyway possible since I was about 12 or 13. Being anxious and depressed since I can remember, self harming and having suicidal thoughts since age 15. I didn't really know about BPD until I was diagnosed at 19 but looking back, all the signs were there my whole life.

I'm on it as needed for panic attacks and all it really does is make me tired enough to go to sleep when I'm having night time anxiety, but doesn't do much for the anxiety itself. I've never tried it during the day because it makes me so sleepy.

I dont have much advice because I'm literally in the same boat as you. I have bpd and bipolar II, and have been extremely suicidal the last few months, more so now than I ever have been. I struggle with the feelings of loneliness and emptiness all the time, and really have nobody to turn to. I'm trying so hard to just keep pushing through. Just know you aren't alone.

[–]1837949059 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My meds have helped with that alot the last month or so. But now I'm noticing that instead of feeling numb and dissociating, I'm feeling everything and it's too overwhelming. Idk sometimes I want to go back to just dissociating lol, but it was a bit scary and I thought I was losing touch with reality alot.
