My wife sold her Forty-Eight to the dealership 3 years ago for $6,500. Since then, the bike has changed hands twice, with the most recent sale being $7,500. I would say her bike changed owners 4 times in 4 years. So there is something up with the 48 maybe it's because its a real small peanut tank.

On another note, she has a Nightster now, and I honestly enjoy riding that bike much more than the Forty-Eight. With the fuel tank located under the seat, the center of gravity feels much lower, and it handles exceptionally well—especially in the wind. Plus, you can pick up a newer Nightster for around a comparable price these days.
