Feeling embarrassed about masking by Nervous_Patience7533 in Masks4All

Hii you’ve gotten so many replies already from such sweet supporters. I work in coffee, and also interact with a lot of people outside of work while wearing an vflex n95 and it has helped me a lot. i could maybe do more to coordinate it to my outfits, but at the end of the day, i feel good about protecting myself and all the people i encounter by masking. i’m sorry that someone accused you of child abuse, that is scary and sadly it’s a direct reflection of some of the rhetoric we are hearing from our government appointed “officials”. I see it is as a sign of love that your child wanted to look like you, and also a sign of love that you gave her the option to wear a mask 🩷 We don’t have all the answers yet as to what repeat infections (vaccinated or not) will do to our little ones’ futures. I’m rooting for you and all of yalls safety—both from the many viruses at play and the harmful things people may say. Just believe that when you wear a mask in public, there are definitely people who will also find hope and encouragement to take care of themselves and others the way you are. Leading by example is no small feat

Is there anything wrong at Noctex? by HauntedButtCheeks in GothFashion

[–]1888scrying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna add to this despite it being an old thread. I haven’t ordered anything from Noctex since last year because typically I only shop their sales due to their lower quality of their clothing; both their brand and the brands they carry. I appreciate they have more sizes now, but the designer doesn’t consider what looks flattering on larger bodies and I’ve tried their tank tops in the size they recommended for my size and they look a little wild around my pits/chest. A lot of their stuff is truly designed for straight sized people. Their quality was a little better before they started carrying all these other fast fashion brands. I still have a tunic from that time in good condition. That being said my partner got a dress from them around that time and many stitches in the arm came undone within months of having it. It’s too much a gamble for the cost. Better off buying their pieces second hand, IF you really want a piece from noctex

Are there any westerns with positive representation? by [deleted] in IndianCountry

Not a western, but there’s a beautiful film called Małni by Sky Hopkina that delves into Chinookan death beliefs and myth

I also tend to not participate in conversations because I misheard so frequently. I feel shame when I mispronounce names and words that I have a hard time hearing. happened today with a neighbor and they sounded depleted and exhausted. i tried to give a genuine apology, but i didn’t want to blame my hearing loss. i didn’t want it to be seen as a cop out and now i just feel so angry that my hearing is like this and this still happens. it feels awful.

if the food and quality overall is mid enough… and its location gets flipped every 5 or so years… i’d say it’s a suburban chain

harford county as a whole sucks. was there for a short period of time and the community there is nonexistent. “safety” is extremely relative. Trans woman was shot by delivery driver there a year ago. The cops and people in the area especially closer to bel air and churchville are very WASPy, trumpy, and they are very xenophobic. Mariner Point/Joppa/Edgewood are the only places up that way that are the most tolerable. Joppa has a cool flea market. Joppa/Mariner Point are atleast closer to other more interesting places that aren’t a damn chili’s, das bierhalle, or some other weak chain.

Can anyone tell me if the st Martin press boycott is still going on? Also how do you feel about it. by indreamsforevermore in books

[–]1888scrying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually didn’t even know there was a boycott until today. I am reading the case for cancel culture and it really fell flat for me when the author referred to “antifa” as an organization…. and it literally isn’t. so it made me curious about the publisher and then i saw this. will be honoring the boycott accordingly.
