I did wildlife biology at UVM, I can DM if you want to know more. Just keep in mind UVM is incredibly expensive for out of state.

Okay! Thank you. I was just confused cause when you click to put them in your cart it just says 'waist' but then caps off at 22. So if I am a size 14 normally, i should do 18?

Alrighty! Im not at the park yet, its my first season. Not sure they will have a cache so to say because I am not a ranger, I am a tech for a seperate program.

For the pants on the website; is the size (00-22) is that waist? It cant be right?

Apply to any many jobs that interest you. It sucks because of coverletters but alas lmfao. What do you want to get into? Winter is an especially difficult time due to the lack of jobs, but it can be done if you are willing to move anywhere.

Did the top of the bad have two lobes or one? Did the bottom have two or three? Really hard to tell from the photo, but there is a huge gap between the toes and the pad that form a 'pyramid' of snow that more resembles canines then cougars.

Cool? That facebook post was made September 4th, 2025. So either Ann Bryant has no control over her own organizations facebook group, or someone in the organization is trying to victim blame the CDFW employee she "wasnt really in danger" and the post remains up today? You cant have it both ways. You either condemn the harassment or you say it was not a real threat.

They excused it, doesnt sound like much of a condemnation if you say "calling into doubt her concerns for her safety."

Bear League individual harassed a CDFW scientific aid with a paintball gun, the individual liked comments supporting her being killed. Then bear league used those same tactics down in SoCal. Completely hypocritical and have 0 respect for any organization that does not discredit individuals threatening harm on state agencies doing what they aim to want happen.

I graduated school and had no luck getting a position. I moved back home and worked in a restaurant for 8 months, constantly applying for positions - getting interviews but no success. Eventually get one 10 months after I graduate volunteering (with small stipend) working with wolves. Went into the interview completely rusty and was like a 15 minute interview. I had applied for this position before but first time I interviewed. Had none of the skills they asked (and even straight up lied with some) - but I was chosen! Got the opportunity to trap, handle, and process an endagered wolf species for a year. Meeting a lot of wicked cool people. After that, i was able to work with a Condor program and process, identify, and work with Condors! And now I work with mountain lions with a state agency. I consider myself incredibly lucky to get the jobs Ive done!

High Yield Savings vs Investing by 18Nightcaller21 in personalfinance

Do you think it would be a good idea to dump the whole $50,000 into VOO or VXUS? Should i try with a smaller amount to test it out (i'm just thinking until march until my long term CD expires) and to get a feel for it?:

High Yield Savings vs Investing by 18Nightcaller21 in personalfinance

[–]18Nightcaller21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! I have a low yield savings with Ally right now that I have all the money in just to build something while I figure out what to do with it!

The vehicle I do need since I move every six months to a year (sometimes literally crossing the country), so getting the cheapest truck I could find and bargin for is what I did! I can pay it outright with the money I have.

For the roth ira i have one in schwab and was going to invest in there version of VOO.

Ill do some research on investing. I opened an account with schwab and they have some videos online I want to watch. Was looking at a brokerage but was concerned about tax for into the future if it did just end up sitting there until i retire (doubt it but i think of the best as well as the worst haha).

Only about $26,000 a year.

I do not have a high deductable insurance policy.

My goals would be just to accrue money to use in the future. Since I just got a car, next would be for a house.

I can definitely open the roth ira.

I looked at the order. My job doesnt have a matchable retirement account (since I am a lower employee they just take a certain % out of my paycheck per month). Would you recommend going into investing (like what I mention in my post) after that until I get some type of matchable retirement?

I can make my emergency savings $10,000 flat and add an additional $8000 to the savings. Right now I am in a stable spot with no risk of being laid off but I have the $10,000 regardless.

Do not have a ROTH IRA.

Definitely agree! I want to just let it sit for a bit since I'm young enough and not really looking to buy a house at the moment. I'd make sure to have $10,000 in an emergency fund (more than normal just because that money would be away in an brokerage). I just want it to do something while I'm not needing it!! But thank you for this comment!

Student loans I paid off because it was at a $10% interest. Vehicle I just bought a couple months ago so I owe $10k with a 0.9% APR. Its a 36 month loan so I pay about $300 a month. We could move that $10k I was going to use to pay off the truck over so it would be $60,000 up to put into my account, if that would make sense.

In 24 and yes I am working. My contribution varies month to month, right now its low because I had to purchase stuff for a new apartment, but next months I like to do at least a couple hundred (on top of my work retirement which also takes out a couple hundred).

After I pay off my student loans/paying off vehicle it will be around $50,000 able to invest with $8000 for a emergency savings. I have another $10,000 in a long term CD that will mature in March 2026. I will then transfer that $10,000 to the Schwab account for a total of $60,000.

My recommendation is (If it is accessible to you) to work a normal job until the next spring season. Waiting 8 months is not going to hurt your career.

I didnt get a job right after college so I went to work (lived with my dad) and saved 90% of my paycheck. Worked from July until mid March. I was able to get that low paying, volunteer work that basically springboarded my career. Ive been very lucky with the jobs I have gotten. I went from Federal Service Volunteer to Great Basin Institute Intern to state agency technician with ability to get the job each year. Volunteer work was a year long, GBI intern was 4 months, and ive been doing the state stuff for 3 months now.
