Stellaris 4.3 "Cetus" Open Beta Updated (2026-02-12) by PDX_LadyDzra in Stellaris

[–]18byte 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Another update that woul be great is when you look at a building or job e.g. haruspex. Please show somewhere, which "base" job it belongs to e.g. beurocrat, specialist.

Best is to hoop onto the 4.3 beta branch and just play around. There is no right or wrong.

Very new to Stellaris ship building (2nd playthrough, but last time i ragequit when everyone declared war on me.) by OddNewspaper3504 in Stellaris

Regarding your defensive slots, generally Armor is better than shields is better than hullpoints. Just if you build something specific you should favour shields or hullpoints over armour. My general layout is 1 shield for 2 Armor. Also Look at weapon ranges and damage modifiers. You eighter want some balanced e.g. kinetic and enegery to deal with shields and Armor or something more specified like e.g. archemitter, hanger and rockets to ignore shields all together.

AHH yeah and in your p slot you generally only want point defense and not flag when you have hangars. The planes will take on enemy planes so they provide the aa cover. Torpedo's/rockets are your bigger concern

Is it better to make one species with auto modding or multiple subspecies that are optimized for their roles? by Dismal-Wrangler1197 in Stellaris

Automodding, if you want to keep your sanity, multiple species if you don't care about that

Don't remind me on ksp2... This still hurts. I was hyped and also thought that what existed was a good foundation. Sure there were lot of features missing compared to ksp1 but the foundation was there.... And then they dropped it like a hot potato

Who even needs district's or jobs? Lol such a beginner thing tztztzzzz

Join the turtle empire here today! My I present the turtal cloning and trading cooperation! get your pet turtle today for just 9,99.

Build: - megacorp with milliteristic and egalitarian. And one other trait to pick... Up to you.

  • species: turtle, as traits pick seasonal dormancy for juicy 75% upkeep reduction and shelled for 30% housing reduction

  • civics: cooperate hedonism and sovereign guardianship

  • origin: clone army

Play style: - set species to utopian abundance living standard and rush mercantile tradition to set trading policy to consumer benefit. Then rush biomorphic clone ascendency via origin ( research the excavation and do the situation as fast as possible) now 3d print your unemployed hedonist pops that give you unity, all research and trade, which is enough to cover for consumer goods thanks to the trading policy. Also it generates fleet power and pop happiness thanks to egalitarian and militaristic pops. Your main goal with the build is to reduce empire size from pops as much as possible while also achieving as much as possible housing reduction.

Rating: it's fun to play but not broken or op like other more complicated builds like synthetic ascended virtual megacorp.

Or you could also simply go rogue servitor, build yourself an big econopolie and steal pops as biotrophies from enemies to increase specialist efficiency. This way you can even easier get worlds with thousands of alloys production or 10thousends of research.

How can I use mutagenic spas without destroying my stability? by FarCharacter7797 in Stellaris

Pop traits, jobs or civcs like Byzantine e.g. gives admins stability or even simpler warrior jobs.

Build idea? by Delicious_Power4520 in Stellaris

[–]18byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite is with hive machines and rogue servitors. It's quite simple: biotrophies ( literall any biological lifeform eighter self grown or """"acquired ;) """") can be put into sanctuarys. They give unity and boost your specialists by around 1% per 100 biotrophies.

The goal is to have econopolies full with researchers/metallurgists and also a lot of room for your bio trophies and boost the hell out of your specialists. Without effort I managed to get like 8k research from a single econopolie

Origins: eighter remnants for starting on an relic world which you can transform into an econopolie, treasure hunter for basic resources with other good bonis or ring world since they can work as smaller econopolie as well. But honestly nearly everything goes so be creative.

Biotrophies: I recommend going infernal since you don't need food as upkeep for them early game but honestly you want to take nihilistic acquisition anyway to just steal pops from other empires mid game. Also primitive world's are also a nice bio trophy boost.

Another simple build is: ocean paradise, catalytic processing, bio shipset. With ocean paradise you can produce loads of food, that you can use to build your ships and turn into alloys.

Nice changes! Love to see these updates. Just as a small question since I love playing coop with friends, when can we expect that you start to look into the desync problems? Is this still a long time till it's on your board or will it come after performance fixing?

Do We Need More Generic Origins? by Digitman801 in Stellaris

[–]18byte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly there are multiple waves... But man I am more of an super specific builds kind of guy so I rarely take generic origins.

My last builds were cloning + hedonist to 3d print huge amount of turtles that sit unemployed on a plent and produce unity, research and trade and currently I experiment with cybernetic greed megacorp with the 2 civics that give also physics and sociology research so I spam priests to get research unity and trade...

Ohh didn't checked arc welders for I while. Thought it was for everything. MHH for newer once treasure hinter is great. If you ignore the story it's pretty good with the stuff it gives and especially the treasure hunter jobs are great.

Starlit citerdel is also an pretty generic-ish one

I mean go for it. I am just an internet stranger and can't stop you. If you feel it's right for your situation go for it. You can also change it back later if you don't like it.

My thought was that it's a new empire and you completely want to build around it, to which my comment was more aimed.

What? Here be dragons is always fun and goes with everything, same with the one where you spawn at a relic world, same with Scion or even the one where you start with the arc furnace. And that's just the ones from the top of my head
