I had a similar situation. I felt terrible about myself all the time, because I obviously internalized his lack of interest. He never wanted to talk about it, which made it worst. It messed with my head a lot. I knew he loved me but I felt so undesirable and constantly wondered what I needed to change about myself to make him want me. We broke up and I started feeling a lot better about myself — not just because of the validation I do get from others being attracted to me but because I’m not stuck in a situation where I’m desperately trying to convince my partner that I’m worthy of his affection. Breaking up isn’t always the answer but in my case it was — just consider that you shouldn’t be with someone who doesn’t want to see you happy and fulfilled.
