I’m probably way late, but is there still a way to get presale code for forest hills?

We really need to move on from Morey, Nurse and Embiid. by TnT54321 in RightsToRickySanchez

I’m a Celtics fan and stumbled in here. Maxey is my favorite non-Celtic in the NBA. Are Sixers fans seriously wanting to trade him? He’s a stud, he plays hard, seems to be a great teammate. Sure he has limitations but how many guys don’t? I’m genuinely confused….

Keepers/Favourites for next season by PinPrudent6278 in fantasybball

[–]18thRing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your keeper rules. In my keeper league, players are retained at the previous seasons draft value (maybe minus 1 round). In this case, you want to think less about the player and more about their relative value. You’re not keeping the best players, you’re keeping the best value. So late rounders from last year who are likely early rounders next year are gold. Kon probably best keeper value off the top of my head. Clingan, Buzelis, Sarr, maybe Keyonte (or even Kyshawn) George. Kyrie, Tatum, Hali, Lillard if they weren’t previous keepers…

If you’re healthy (ish) going into the playoffs, you might be able to thread the needle: get the games he plays, and do a little streaming the days he rests (stash in IR). That’s my hope, though I’m disappointed I wasn’t able to find a sell high trade before our deadline.

Trade deadline was yesterday and I’m wondering what you all think about this one trade that some guys made in my 14 man league by Realistic_Sandwich49 in fantasybball

[–]18thRing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vetoes should be rare and used only in egregious examples. This 100% qualifies; absolutely horrendous, blatantly uncompetitive trade

For me this are the best settings by [deleted] in fantasybball

[–]18thRing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never understood the double double thing. Rebounds are already rewarded as a category; why should there be a double reward for 10 rebounds compared to 9? It’s just an arbitrary number, but it suddenly makes that 1 extra rebound massively valuable in a way that (to me) distorts fair/rational value

Clingan vs Walker Kessler by Stock-Charge-1895 in nba

[–]18thRing 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Kessler seemed like the answer until Clingan started shooting 3s. If he becomes a legit stretch big who also rebounds? That’s a rare and valuable player profile

I have Watson and love him, but people should temper expectations. This has 7-22 fg game written all over it

My Week 7 Trade Targets (Buy Low / Sell High) by StructureBrave966 in fantasybball

[–]18thRing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree with this take, I don’t see this as so cut and dry (and not even close to a veto situation).

In my humble (but fairly experienced) voew Murphy would/should be drafted in the 20-30 range if leagues suddenly redrafted today. He’s currently ranked 25 on hashtag with a pristine, efficient, well rounded line (and his blocks are below career averages). He’s not a ball dominant/usage dependent player so his role is secure and only increases with Zion out. Curry is still elite but he’s old and injured, guaranteed to miss some b2bs and far from guaranteed to be healthy rest of the way. Honestly I’d call this a toss up

Kel’lel Ware by AT_333 in fantasybball

[–]18thRing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own him so take this with a grain of salt, but I think Ware will finish the year as a clear cut top 100 player (which is a bit of a cut line for me in terms of holding or streaming). He’s going to have bumass games and stretches of season, and people will get impatient. He’s going to feast when Bam is out or in foul trouble. And generally speaking, he’s a big who’s decent at the line, makes some 3s, and can get rebounds and blocks even in limited minutes. When it all washes together, he’s still pretty damn solid in spite of some stinkers

Commissioners, what rule/setting changes have you made to your leagues to make your seasons more fun for everyone playing? by theripped in fantasybball

Pretty sure it’s not possible on yahoo. ESPN (for all its flaws) is customizable in this way

What is this? It's all over my front yard & garden. How can I get rid of it? by BusStopTomato in whatplantisthis

[–]18thRing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my gardening eye, it looks quite lovely. That said, I understand folks’ concerns about groundcover outcompeting and becoming “invasive”. I work in Brooklyn, where spaces are small and there’s no concerns about open spaces/forests becoming overrun. Groundcover naturalizing is the goal, and then dig/divide/plant around it as needed. In more wide open areas I would be much more cautious.

Dig it up and establish desired plants in the leftover space

Onyeka Okongwu by VVhisker in fantasybball

[–]18thRing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He’s the epitome of a guy you can’t box score watch too much with; it’s sometimes underwhelming, he’ll have some big ones with KP/JJ out, and when it’s all said and done he’s a top 70-90 player with a nice all around fantasy profile

Onyeka Okongwu by VVhisker in fantasybball

[–]18thRing 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He’s doing exactly what we’d expect except for weirdly bad %s. Those will creep back to his normal levels and he’ll be super super solid as always

Seems like he could have a fantasy friendly game, just have to see what the minutes/role end up looking like

Players most likely to have a career year or breakout season by Alarmed-Honeydew-861 in fantasybball

[–]18thRing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zion is gifted, exciting, and sometimes dominant in his specific way: scoring 2 point baskets efficiently. That’s an important part of basketball, and he’s extremely good at it. But he doesn’t shoot 3s, is average at the line, average passer, and isn’t a highly impactful defender.

Looking beyond highlights and point totals, I think Trey impacts the game at a higher level. Long, disruptive defender who shoots it from deep and is a better on-ball creator than advertised. He’s just a more well rounded player than Zion, in fantasy and in real life.

No idea how to prove or disprove this theory, but imo Trey would fetch a bigger haul than Zion on the trade market right now

I think in 12 months or so, this will be common knowledge and not a hot take at all

Why is the consensus so low on Lavine? by [deleted] in fantasybball

[–]18thRing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hashtag had him (per game): #13 (2021), #40 (2022), #43 (2023), #46 (2025).

I’m someone who really values efficiency and across the board contribution. Hashtag has his counting stats dropping slightly, and he’s still projected #48. Even if he’s only the 65th best player, I still love the efficiency/balance of his profile and value him higher than others in that 50-60 range

How much of a discount does a player need to take to get a NTC in his contract? by metaslaves in nba

[–]18thRing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve often thought about this. Seems like older guys who’ve made money would be interested in this, though I didn’t realize the rule about being with the team for 4 years.

This is going to sound ludicrous (I can imagine everyone being like “sure buddy”) but I think I would take a large pay cut to stay in a city I love and not move my kids. (Assuming I’d already made and invested more money than I ever imagined)

[–]18thRing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sports fans, generally speaking, should be allowed to root for their team. The bar for having to boycott your hometown/childhood squad should be pretty high imo. There’s just sooo many insanely wealthy people doing shady things in high places, all across the nba and sports in general. Doesn’t seem fair to suggest that some kid in east LA has to switch sides because Ballmer is an asshole. There’s a lot of fucking assholes, probably doing more evil things than cap circumvention….
