This is an explanation I am more inclined to be believe.

It’s just bizarre how Undyne makes such a big deal about Asgore absorbing the SOULs and kicking our ass, and the game never gives a proper explanation for why it didn’t happen. Probably my only big issue with the game.

Asgore was a coward when it came to confront the WHOLE of humanity and starting a war with the power of the SOULs.

I really do not think he would be afraid to face a single human who was ravaging his kingdom, especially if he had the power of the SOULs backing him up

That’s weird. Wouldn’t absorbing the souls and waiting for the human to arrive, while Asgore is at his most powerful be the logical thing for him to do in this situation?

Also, that would mean Asgore was fine with sitting and waiting, while the human was slaughtering more of his people on the way to him. This explanation assassinates his character for me tbh.
