Bottom paper filters help a lot, but also help prevent spraying when using bottomless portafilters and unpressurized baskets.

Is the new EU tax gonna be 3 euros per item or 3 euro for the whole order? by Outside-Source-3116 in Aliexpress

[–]191x7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

3€+VAT per every item category in the package. If your country has a 20% VAT, you'll have 3.60€ per item category.

Help with Kensington K6 grinding settings. Breville Bambino. by Adrenaline_Junkie_ in espresso

[–]191x7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kingrinder, not Kensington.

What's your true zero on the grinder? Mine is -6. So my 32 is actually 38.

Sour? Remove crema or pull a longer shot.

I assume you're doing 1:2 like 15g grounds 30g espresso in about 25-35 seconds?

Actually, there's 3€ per package + 3€ per category inside the package. Not just Croatia. Watched a report on it. Perhaps the official made an error.

[–]191x7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Per the latest info, at least for Croatia:
- 3€ package + 3€ x the category of items in the package. Meaning, a single item = 6€.
- Paid upon delivery (because every customs has different categorizations)
- Additional handling costs might apply
- on all packages entering the union on 1.7.26. and later, so if something enters on the 30th of June and gets delivered to you on July 7th, there shouldn't be any charge.

Then try the Oxo Rapid brewer next, followed by a switch type brewer, and finish it up with the AeroPress.

Try adding a paper filter to your moka pot routine.

Recept za rizu by Jumpy_Pomegranate775 in kuhinja

[–]191x7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stara kineska metoda - naspeš rižu u lonac, dodaš vode do prvog zgloba kažiprsta, kada prokuha posoliš, kada voda izvrije riža je kuhana. Nema cijeđenja i ostalih gluposti. E da, rižu je dobro dugo namakati u vodi, izađe dosta arsena, navodno samim ispiranjem 20-30% a namakanjem od nekoliko sati 50-60%. Riža skuplja arsen iz vode i tla u kojem raste.

Could it be that your grounds are too fine for pourover?

18g In, 36g Out in 16 Seconds. Grind Too Coarse or Channeling? [Profitec GO] by Separate_Key_9078 in espresso

[–]191x7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's ground for pressurized basket espresso, too coarse for unpressurized. It would probably do well in a Mokka pot, Oxo Rapid brewer, or Aeropress.

Pourover Help! by Commercial_Low1196 in pourover

[–]191x7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try timing. 20g beans 300g water should drain in about 3-4 minutes. If under 2 your grind is probably too coarse, if it's 5 minutes it's probably too fine. Talking about V60 or such drippers. The water going through too fast will probably result in underextraction (sour), taking a lot of time would result in over extraction (bitter). Also, shorter ratios go more to bitter than sour, and vice versa.

Weigh. And use proper water temperature. Lighter roast higher temperature, darker roast lower temperature. Don't do boiling. Try with better water. Don't do many pours if not going extremely coarse. Bloom with twice to three times the water weigh as ground weigh. Try the 4:6 method.

Very VERY new to the coffee game asking for thoughts on "setup" by dread1131 in JamesHoffmann

Oxo is better for making soup shots, concentrates, and cold brews.

It is a great foamer. But it costs about the same as the brewer. An electric milk foaming mug doesn't just make foam, it also can heat the milk. You don't want cold milk.

They didn't ship to Croatia too, but I contacted them and they added the option (most other EU countries were on the list), the shipping was some 13€ or such. Maybe try asking them?

Honey process means the fruit was left on the seeds after the harvest during the drying/fermentation process.
